It really is and was

Why didn't they get Juelz to perform

during the Versus?

This beat is STILL CRAZY in 2023

Edit; You know what :mjlol:....I 100000000% believe Cam now when he said it was hard to make Juelz write....I think Juelz put all his energy into his classic adlibs to basically replace a bar or stop a bar short..like fukk writing I'mma just say A! which is fukking genius

Juelz didn't have the game on lock, but around 2005 he was at least comparable to Wayne and TI as far as buzz. He underachieved, he was never gonna be Jay, but he could've had a Jeezy level career.

Juelz was a star at 18. What was Jay-Z doing at 18?

You don't need to have Jay level of skills to reach his superstar level.

Juelz had the star factor. Juelz could've been as big as Jay or Drake with right choice and team, plus work.

juelz was one of the few main rappers “man” that could have passed his mentor.

He had star appeal. And cam right he coulda been the leading young rapper with wayne during his peak run. And weird enough, it was jim who took that spot who i think we all would have though was the least likely.

Rakim even consigned Juelz as being the next one up :wow:

Being in high school around that time, Juelz was everyone’s favorite from Dipset. Even the broads had crushes on him nh….He had 2 albums under his belt at the point and was apart of a classic album ( Diplomatic Immunity). He was apart of Chris Brown’s first major hit.

Juelz and Wayne were neck & neck but Wayne just had more firepower, desire to be great and continued elevating into a superstar while Juelz started going the opposite direction.

We can all say that drugs played a factor but Wayne was on drugs heavy back then too and it didn’t slow him down initially. Juelz just didn’t give a fukk.

Wayne had Birdman, Tez, Mack that even with his heavy drug usage kept him in the studio. Cash Money locked down hit factory. Permanent block time..... They hung out and did everything at the studio. Juelz didn't have the guidance of Birdman

Drake surpassed Jay and was never as good as rapper, if we’re talking popularity and buzz wise yes he could have been Jay Level or close, he was already on the wane by the equivalent age of Jay releasing his first album(26-27).
loll i dont know why ppl think its far fetched
Its not like jayz had a strangle hold on the era
Mase, dmx, Ja rule, 50 cent, Nas, lil wayne, nelly etc all took turns being popular then jay-z during that time period.

Santana could have as well

I try not to judge too harshly cause we don’t know what goes on in peoples lives or what mental blocks they may have.

Even in this thread, I’m sure some of us haven’t fulfilled our potential or struggle with consistency.

That being said, Juelz had star potential. The groundwork was laid for him and the timing was great in regards to his age but he dropped the Baton.
