This is also true, because breh doesn't have the neuromechanics to suddenly start baring weights.....

Either way this is no shade at the powerlifter because that Kat is a beast and his motions were flawless when it came to squatting and benching, perfect form...
Yeah the body is smart enough to know the difference between a bench press and a pushup for example. They may look similar to your eyes but those movements register very differently with your body.

When I first got to the joint,I was about 145 pounds,I couldn't bench 135,so I was pretty weak.

My first year locked up I did straight calisthenics

Here was my routine:

Grab the stop watch and set it at 30mins and start it

I started off trying to complete 100 pullups,150 dips,150 body squats and 200 pullups within 30 mins or less, and everytime it got easier I added 2 reps to the pullups,5 reps to the dips, and 10 reps to the pushups and body squats. The best I ever got up to was 180 pullups,400 dips,450 pushups and 300 body squats in 30 mins, and knocked out 1,000 pushups every saturday in 45 mins.

The pushups and dips were done together, take a 5 min break, then the pushups and bodysquats were done together, and the 1,000 pushups saturdays were done alone.

For a year straight I did this with NO WEIGHTS and it cut me up something serious and gave me long wind,I was strong and in great shape, the first time I went back to the bench press I hit 135 like it was nothing, hit 225 easily and got a one rep of 300 pounds.

My squat, was about 275 ATG and 310 in the bucket(Prison slang for squating and making your butt touch the flat bench or a chair.)

But after I picked up the weights,I no longer did this crazy routine anymore,as I loved the weights.

But I just started this back up and started back from scratch and got 100 pullups,150 dips,150 body squats and 200 pushups in 20 mins breh's.

Try this, any questions feel free to ask.

Sounds like the P90X system....

Never did P90X but the workout I listed def gets the blood going and gives you a helluva workout for only 30 mins

I'm looking for something that wifey and I can do together. She's real new to the lifting game, she's been one of those cardio bunnies, and always felt that muscle was gonna make her bulky, but now she's seen the light. Would this work if she modified the pushups to the joints where she started on her knees? And how would you suggest we modify the dips? We've got a screened in porch that has my bench and her treadmill, but are there any dip apparatus that can get her started? Same thing for the pullups, I'm imagining we'll cop one of those pullup bars as well.

:salute: on the game you dropped on here, my dude.

One thing I am doing when I get back to weights is once I get back into form is to change things up. I would set up my weeks to something like this.

Normal
Strength
Normal
Endurance
Normal
Bodyweight

This thread got me really interested in bodyweight training again.

Yea breh, get that pullup bar and you can do dips on them, just read the instructions shyt is very simple tho, of course it won't be good as a regular standard dip bar,but it gets the job done. And yea she can do any Pushups she wants, long as y'all out that time limit on and go hard and complete the task at hand y'all good money breh. Let me know how it goes, always glad to help.

If these are your goals there is a lot of useful information in this thread. At the end of the day just do what works best for you and your goals. Take bits and pieces from everywhere and put them together to reach your goals. Whatever you do just don't stop. Always stimulate your body to do more.

I personally love calisthenics I just call it yoga.

The original poster is giving you all the formula. Sprints are a good exercise too. Just look at how muscular and lean sprinters are and how skinny and weak long distance runners look. It doesn't take a genius. Also, this is the type of stuff that can happen for someone if they remove themselves from the television. I'm just saying. That's what I tell people all the time, don't follow someone else's routine, take bits and pieces of a few peoples routine and put it together and get to work.

Because what works for one person might not work for you,its really all trial and error

Thanks breh,I'm just trying to give more people information about working out, especially if you don't want to work out all day or go to the gym, something simple but very efficient
