I dont think the Bears should go into this search fixated on just offense

they need to hire the best option, period

Ben Johnson sounds cool on paper, but he comes with plenty of risk being an unproven leader. I totally understand why they would value experience right now, the time to hire Ben Johnson was this past offseason. After what transpired this season, bringing in someone thats proven they can lead a locker room and make proper game decisions might make the most sense IMO. We dont have any room to make a "bad" hire here

I cant disagree with the bolded but it doesnt erase the rest of Beli's HC pedigree

the fact that hes 72 is worrisome though, thats pretty old for the expectations and work required to be a HC -- I would want him to come in with a clear succession plan for once he steps away

I dont really expect a Beli hire BTW, just, they would be silly not to talk to him

Older than you apparently, because I can remember when Belichick was the defensive coordinator for the Giants and when he was head coach at Cleveland where he sucked. He wasn't even doing that great in New England until Bledsoe got hurt and he was forced to play Brady.

That 2001 Superbowl was Brady, a strong defense and knowing Belichick there was probably some cheating.

Brady has won a Superbowl since leaving Belichick. Belichick on the other hand got fired.
