Durags been banned in school since your father's father has been going to school. This isn't the hill to die on. The point of a durag is to keep your hair together when you sleep at HOME, not rock in school. It's not a racial issue because durags were banned in black schools pre-integration too.

I've never once heard of simply wearing a durag to mean "gang". People sound like they get their idea of black criminals from Walker: Texas Ranger. If they said "we're banning bandanas hanging out of pockets" I would completely understand.

Can people please stop with the "you can't do that in a professional environment" talk. High school isn't a professional environment and it's not meant to prepare you for that. They're wearing jeans and sneakers so that argument is null and void.

I went to my early in the morning college classes with a durag on. Girls used to show up in pajamas and slippers.

All the school had to say was no headwear and there's no protest. The kids are correct to point out that the language in the policy is problematic.

Am I trippin but when did schools allow durags in the first place you couldn't rock durags or hats at my HS in the mid 00s either....they even tried to enforce a tuck your shirt in policy but that didn't work most of the time lol

My school did that too cause u can hide weapons lol.I remember had to call security to use the bathroom.shyt in middle school u couldn't even bring your bookbag in class
