Neither can shoot. At least Killian got good defense
Like I said, I get that point but he was a high lottery pick. Monty wants to set a culture that you gotta play defense to get PT, makes sense, but winning clearly ain't the priority now and maybe giving him PT is the best way to iron out these issues. Matter of fact, what if he's just always a net negative defender?

I thought they were tanking the last few years?
Yeah, it's been a sort of "the process" following their blueprint, but we haven't had Embid like talent to hit on. And the year that it finally looks like a legit generational type talent in the draft, we have the worst record and end up with worst possible draft outcome we could have and drop to 5th.

Then he better have all worldly offense to make up for it or he’s going to be a role player or out of the league altogether.

Maybe they’re trying to build up Killian before moving him

Obviously Detroit will be a losing team this season

But Killian time is running out and he was a lottery pick as well

Ivey's rookie season: 41.6 FG%, 34.3 3P%, 16.3 pts, 5.2 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.2 TO

Granted, on a horrible team but that's what you want to see from a young guard. He might need to be moved for a better fitting piece.

He reminds me of Hedo Turkgulu but smaller. I think he can be part of a winning team but I am not sure he is that winning teams #1 or even #2. Especially as he is learning bad habits as a #1 on a crap team.

Monty talking about it’s his job to teach them good habits would imply he had some vets in front of them they were forced to emulate to get minutes. Either you get great talent to turn it around like OKC and ORL or you got to teach the kids good habits by mixing them in with the right vets like the Knicks and Rockets did.

I don’t think Detroit is doing a version of the process, but they might have to do a reset on these kids and ship some of them out, for more picks or better fitting vets. Also it wouldn’t hurt them to outright tank…..

I think he maxxes out as a poor man's Luka, which is a good player to be sure but not a #1 guy on a team that's gonna win anything
He reminds me of Steve Smitty Smith. Former Hawk legend and MSU great. He needs to be moved to SG but Detroit don't have a better option at PG.

I honestly don't know why Sasser doesn't smart. He's actually decent. Decent SG.

Ya'll got about 5 SGs, 4 centers, and 2 tweeners with no position. I have no clue what Detroit is doing

Players of value
Ausar and Duren

Players who can play
Bojan, Cade, Monte and Sasser.

Idk what to expect
Joe Harris and Stewart

Talented players but they stink
Ivey, Bagley, Knox, Wiseman,

Stink
Hayes

I think Cade was a major miss. You could have had Barnes or Mobley. That said, he's better than Suggs or Jalen Green although Green still got a lot of upside.

Pistons probably should have took Sharpe over Ivey.

When Monte is back, Detroit will likely look better when they move him into the PG spot

Ivey is retarded. Ivey just didn't translate from what I seen. Sometimes you peak way too early.
He's 21 and played less than 100 games in the league. Maybe the defense never gets fixed but offensively he looks like any young guy on a bad team. I wouldn't write anything definitively about him just yet

Young squad with bad habits and no shooters. Monte is going to fix things but it won't happen overnight. I do think Ivey is a bust, though. I'd look to trade him for another 1st or bring in a shooter.
