When White People Try To Tell Black People What To Do:

White People: Hey Black people, you need to fix your community right now!
Black People: Okay, what about President Obama's "My Brother's Keeper" program?
White People: OMG WHAT ABOUT WHIIIITEEEEE BOYSSS?!
Black People: Fine, how about ‪#‎BlackGirlsRock‬?
White People: OMGPUMPKINSPICEFUUUUUCKKKINNNG RACCISTTTT!!!
Black People: Whatever, I don't even care what you have to say.
White People: YOU'RE BEING DIVISIVE! I WISH SLAVERYY-----

WHAT THE HELL DO WHITE PEOPLE WANT??!! You don't want Black people to come into your communities, yet you bytch and whine when they make something of their own.

People who are constantly passively reassured, will always questions someone else being aggressively reassured, even if it happens sporadically.

Everything in America reassures white women.
Magazines at the CVS counter, detailing beauty tips and secrets? Aimed at white women.
Love interests in films, leading ladies? White women.
Entertainment media? White women.
Violent crime happens to white woman, things must changed.

White women don't need to have it blatantly spelled out for them, their day to day is filled with examples of it.
The people whining about it come off as selfish and supremely entitled.

The only people worse off than Black women are indigenous Americans.
If anybody needs that positive reinforcement, they do.
But white women would likely either complain again, or outright claim partial descent, obscuring the whole point.

They invented segregation. And now they wanna whine about "that just creates a divide" well that's a result of conditioning by your forefathers:cmonjay:You made your bed now sleep

they do this because the point is to imply that Black people are stuck in the past and that white people only want to correct their mistakes and move forward. "we made mistakes in the past, but we ended slavery and there's still slavery going on in Africa right now"

And there's one of the many reasons why #blackgirlsrock is neccessary.

Maybe it'd be different if black people were present in 98% of advertisements, had material catered to them in the majority of schools across the country and world, made up more than 60% of the country's population, controlled 99% of the world's wealth, were represented in 98% of movies and Tv shows, but it is not...

It's not even worth talking to these cacs...they play dumb for us cause really just don't want us to do anything except disappear off the face of the planet.

Yes white privilege exists, but we gotta be brave and succeed in spite of it, or we might as well concede the L. What is saying #blackgirlsrock really doing to combat white privilege? All it does is give ammo to the "reverse racism" crowd.

You sound just as ignorant as those Twitter fools. Go read:

BLACK GIRLS ROCK! Inc. is 501(c)3 non-profit youth empowerment and mentoring organization established to promote the arts for young women of color, as well as to encourage dialog and analysis of the ways women of color are portrayed in the media.

Since 2006, BLACK GIRLS ROCK! has been dedicated to the healthy development of young women and girls. BLACK GIRLS ROCK! seeks to build the self-esteem and self-worth of young women of color by changing their outlook on life, broadening their horizons and helping them to empower themselves. For the past five years, we have enjoyed the opportunity to enrich the lives of girls aged 12 to 17 years old through mentorship, arts education, cultural exploration and public service. At BLACK GIRLS ROCK!, young women are offered access to enrichment programs and opportunities that place special emphasis on personal development through the arts and cooperative learning.

By speaking to the next generation in their formative years about issues of self-worth, goals and aspirations, the organization reinforces the message that young women need not objectify themselves or relinquish their autonomy. BLACK GIRLS ROCK! has boldly taken on the crisis of our female youth of color here in America head on and understands the need for positive self-images and a strong sense of awareness. WE SEE SOLUTIONS.

BLACK GIRLS ROCK! Inc. continues to partner with BET Networks in the worldwide broadcast of BLACK GIRLS ROCK! The event continues to be a historic and monumental show highlighting the accomplishments of exceptional women of color who have made outstanding contributions in their careers, and who stand as inspirational and positive role models in their communities.
