I always thought it was about what happens when you're in a horror movie-type situation. You hear the door slam, you hear the footsteps. You know this evil, disgusting thing is coming to finish you off and there's nothing you can do about it. A beast, an alien, a forty-eyed monster. It's all the same. You have to do what you can to save your life, but at the end of the day, your death is inevitable.

But Rod Temperton wrote it so I don't know how Michael looked at it.
