They don’t want to learn how to extract, and refine it themselves. They thinking short term when they should be thinking long term.

And I can almost bet a years pay, Australia sold them on renewable energy eventually making oil obsolete and they were taking most of the risk.

An attack that reportedly killed more than 100 soldiers on an army base in Burkina Faso has snowballed into speculation about unrest in the security forces, in a country where the military has been in power since 2022.
The leader of the military junta has since appeared on state TV in an attempt to debunk the rumours.
Burkina Faso has been battling Islamist insurgents for several years and about half the country is outside government control.
Jihadist group Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM) has said it was behind last Tuesday's attack in the northern town of Mansila.

as of 2024 there has not been a REPUTABLE source that's report any terrorist attacks in Burkina Faso

if it was legit, the first western source will come from a reputable french source first because despite all this french kicking out, there are still french multinational companies in these countries, and it would be irresponsible for them to lie.

after going over the whole contract and the taxes these companies will have to pay, i guys ultimately, the deal is not as egregious as I thought

the state will ultimate get between 55-60% of all revenues when you include the taxes.

but still, if they would have hold off for like 8-10 years to learn to refine themselves, they would get rich quick because of their already diverse economy

DAKAR, July 11 (Reuters) - Burkina Faso's military junta said it has adopted the draft of an amended family code that criminalises homosexuality.

The West African nation has been among just 22 out of 54 countries on the continent that allow same-sex relations, which are punishable by death or lengthy prison terms in some states.

Burkina Faso has been under military rule since two successive coups in 2022 and is part of a confederation with juntas in neighbouring Mali and Niger.

All three interim governments have so far failed to hold elections and turned away from traditional Western allies.

In a statement late on Wednesday, Burkina Faso's junta said it had adopted the amended family code draft in a weekly council of ministers overseen by interim military leader Ibrahim Traore.

"From now on, homosexuality and related practices are prohibited and punishable by law," interim Justice Minister Edasso Rodrique Bayala said in a presidency statement on the meeting.

For the law to come into force, it will need to pass a parliamentary vote and then be promulgated by Traore.

There has been a further clampdown on LGBTQ rights in Africa over the past 14 months. Uganda signed one of the world's toughest anti-LGBTQ laws in May last year, while lawmakers in Ghana unanimously passed legislation in February that intensifies the repression of LGBTQ people.

The daughter of Cameroon's president, Brenda Biya, came out as a lesbian last month and has since called for laws that ban homosexuality in the country to be changed.

“Some powers have refused to sell us equipment, blocked the equipment we purchased in certain countries, because they have the license for certain components. And its powers exploit minerals in Burkina Faso. I say it here loud and clear and solemn: it will stop. We are going to withdraw operating permits. We are not going to allow this. You cannot exploit our resources, and refuse to sell us equipment, have our equipment blocked. We are not going to accept it. Let them wait: we are going to get our operating permits back and we are going to exploit them ourselves!” Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Burkina Faso.

ok, so where are they gonna sell their stuff? plus, they still need the tech/tools to mine.

See, again, a lot of this SOUNDS good and gives meat to the base of his supporters but the actual mechanics of what he’s laying out is ripe for graft and corruption.

Good luck, but this just sounds like more cheap messaging.
