People don’t give Bungie credit for the longevity of the game. It’s been far from perfect but I think their contributions made the looter shooter genre better despite some setbacks.

shyt, how many “Destiny killers” have their been?:pachaha:

Several in name, but none in reality :wow:

This. Bungie has been going through shyt, it just happened to hit the fan after the acquisition.

Shhhh. Don't tell these people that haven't had to deal with Bungie over the last decade how they've been on bullshyt. How else will the petty news reporting war continue?

Make better games then.

Been eating off of one IP for the last what? 15 years?

Do better, branch out, make more interesting games, fukking diversify your offerings even a little bit.

not that simple. But bungie has been putting out lackluster content for a decade now so devs who are mad clearly had their head in the sand for the last few years.

Remember when they said this acquisition was a better get than activision. They clowned Microsoft for missing out on the deal. They said Bungie was the goat MP developer and would usher in a new era of dominance for sony in the MP space.

Now bungie is trash and sony should take over and force them to make movie games…..:wow:
The fans turned on Bungie so quick. Everyone was hyped for the acquisition and now it’s whatever.

The only people/fans who turned haven’t played destiny over the last 5 or so years. The only thing I was hyped about was maybe an about face on MTX, outside of that we know what Bungie has been on. Especially when it was announced they were going to stay “independent” after the acquisition

That's most gaming companies unfortunately. Overworked and underpaid. Most of the best engineers will go on to work at big tech and chase the money.

I know plenty of people I went to school with who personally work at these companies or have worked at them.

Yet to hear of one person thrilled to be working in the industry. Also heard that because there's no liability for bugs (a software error in a video game will rarely kill anybody) the codebases on average tend to be difficult to work with as people throw shyt together.

well damn. that's some dirty shyt.

But that's what all these companies do...the execs and higher ups make sure they keep their bread/bonuses so firing the lower level cats that make it happen to keep their money flowing is what they do.

AND exactly why none of these devs/engineers should not be pitied for being laid off. Majority of the time when they could easily get Director or VP roles they turn em down because they don’t get to touch the work. That inevitably leads to sales and unqualified people getting those gigs with no passion or knowledge making these dumbass decisions.

What game industry is now is due to their own incompetence & selfishness.
