Part of me feels this was the only way to save Destiny without the studio falling apart. If Bungie were willing to be bought, then it's reasonable to believe they have been on the decline for a while and needed a way out. If Sony has the power to replace your executive board, then you didn't come into the acquisition with much leverage.
