Interestingly, German food is much better quality from what I've had when I was there.

Obviously Italian and Spanish food is miles better (you can thank the Moorish influence for that).

But British food deserves to get trashed....I mean just peep some of the names they call their food: Spotted dikk (), fakkit (), Bubble and Squeak.

Google it if you think I'm making this up.

I thought the same before I went there, but truthfully, a lot of the traditional food/"pub grub" over there isn't too bad:
Roast Dinner (With Yorkshire puddings? )
Shepherds Pie
Bangers and Mash
Fish and Chips

are all nice. Plus all the imported foods/dishes they got over there. Not trying to see no Jellied Eels, though.

Also, as an adage, UK/Euro chocolate >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> American chocolate.
