My fav European food was definitely Spanish, Greek & Turkish in that order.
[QUOTE="Asante, post: 39260644, member: 16549"]The southern Euros have a closer genetic tie to Africa, and that is the entire basis of their more edible food.
Why do people always say this?
Because it's a known fact;
"The surprise is that the Neolithic peoples of Europe and their Bronze Age successors are not closely related to the modern inhabitants, although the prehistoric/modern ties are somewhat more apparent in southern Europe. It is a further surprise that the Epipalaeolithic Natufian of Israel from whom the Neolithic realm was assumed to arise has a clear link to Sub-Saharan Africa... Interestingly enough, however, the small Natufian sample falls between the Niger-Congo group and the other samples used. Fig. 2 shows the plot produced by the first two canonical variates, but the same thing happens when canonical variates 1 and 3 (not shown here) are used. This placement suggests that there may have been a Sub-Saharan African element in the make-up of the Natufians (the putative ancestors of the subsequent Neolithic), .. When canonical variates are plotted, neither sample ties in with Cro-Magnon as was once suggested. The data treated here support the idea that the Neolithic moved out of the Near East into the circum-Mediterranean areas and Europe by a process of demic diffusion but that subsequently the in situ residents of those areas, derived from the Late Pleistocene inhabitants, absorbed both the agricultural life way and the people who had brought it." YESSS!
Pommes rot weiß! (fries with ketchup & mayonaisse, the mayo is bomb not the miracle whip stuff)
Rindergulasch!! (beef goulash, originated in Hungary)
Hühnerfrikassee!! (fricassee of chicken with white asparagus: Fricassee or fricassée is a method of cooking meat in which it is cut up and braised, and served with its sauce.
Königsberger Klopse (Meatballs in white sauce with capers)! Doesn't look good but is delicious I promise!
Wiener Schnitzel!! Especially with lots of lemon juice! Wiener schnitzel, sometimes spelled Wienerschnitzel, as in Switzerland, is a type of schnitzel made of a thin, breaded, pan-fried veal cutlet. It is one of the best known specialities of Viennese cuisine (from Austria)!
Rinderrouladen with sweet/sour red cabbage and potatoes!!! MY FAVORITE hearty dish that I usually cook for Christmas as it takes a long time.
Consisting of bacon, onions, mustard and pickles wrapped in thinly sliced beef which is then cooked.
Kohlrouladen!
A dish consisting of cooked cabbage leaves wrapped around a variety of fillings, we'd usually use ground beef.
Fave fast food:
Currywurst: steamed, then fried pork sausage typically cut into bite-sized chunks and seasoned with curry ketchup, a sauce based on spiced ketchup or tomato paste, itself topped with curry powder, or a ready-made ketchup seasoned with curry and other spices.
Döner: Turkish doner kebab
Tzatziki: Greek tzatziki sauce (creamy yogurt sauce with dill, cucumbers, fresh garlic etc.)
Frühstücks brötchen (breakfast rolls usually with marmalade or honey, cheese, lunch meat etc)
Milchreis (rice pudding with any fruit or cinnamon sugar) same with semolina pudding which is similar to cream of wheat but better lol (Grießbrei)
Pfannenkuchen with Nutella (Pancakes that are thinner and get rolled, usually with nutella or apple sauce etc.)
Apfelkuchen mit Schlagsahne: Apple cake with whip cream
Käsesahnetorte: Cream cake
Maulwurfkuchen: German mole cake
Southern Europeans or white people plane and simple. In fact all the proximity to Africa does is make them more virulent racist.
Take the data for what the data says. The Europeans who cook half way descent food ironically are the Europeans with the most African genetic pull. Social constructs are irrelevant.
And where did you get this data from?
The information is from Brace 2005. That was really only a snippet of consistent data finding this to be the case.
And what is Bryce 2005?
