I believe everything Flores says when it comes to Denver and the Giants and hope he gets a bag from the NFL. I believe him that Ross wanted the team to suck so we could get the #1 pick (so did all the fans, myself included)

However, he's off base as far as him thinking he got fired from the Dolphins because of race or his refusal to tank.

There's countless incidents one can point to as evidence that he just rubbed people the wrong way, despite being an otherwise good coach.

- We hired Jim Caldwell to assist with the offense and he quit before the season even started, stating it was "health-related". Rumors are that he didn't like Flo's micromanaging style.

- We couldn't get a coordinator that wanted to coach under Flores so we had to bring Chan Gailey's old ass out of retirement, who ran an offense tailor made for Fitz

- Then we fired Gailey despite the offense actually being decently productive somehow, and again couldn't hire a qualified OC that wanted to work under Flores, so we were forced to promote from within and had dual-OCs, who were incompetent

- Minkah Fitzpatrick demanded a trade after realizing he couldn't play for Flores

- He traded Kenny Stills after Stills continued to kneel for the anthem and criticize Jay-Z for the "we're passed kneeling" line, but not before playing 6 Jay-Z songs in a row at practice the next day to troll Stills

- Him and the GM were apparently not on speaking terms and Flores stopped talking to the assistant coaches for the last two MONTHS of the season

- He and Tua didn't get along at all and started screaming at each other at halftime of the Tennessee game

Not saying any one of those things deserved to get him fired, but in its totality, it's easy to make a case that he was fired for legitimate reasons. So ultimately he was let go for his inability to hire competent offensive staff, his lack of a relationship with the GM, and him not getting along with the QB.

There’s a lot of speculation in this post.

Incorrect. Kenny got traded cause the team roster was set up to TANK. Also, Kenny had just called out Stephen Ross for his friendship with Trump/fundraiser with him while also running RISE and sitting on the players social justice coalition.

Chan Gaileys offense was mediocre at best, the defense carried the team that season with a huge turnover differential, Tua essentially finished the season after the team got back to 3-3 and he was ass, constantly getting yanked.

Minkah got traded cause he realized the dolphins fukkin sucked and has a horrible roster that season. fins traded him and got a first or a 2nd for him.

Youre honestly just running with all the talking points/leaked info that dolphins PR provided to beat writers and talking heads. lol

Tua fukkin SUKKED against the Titans, and deserved to get chewed out for it (if this is true)

It's pretty well documented that Flores and Kenny Stills didn't see eye to eye, stemming from Kenny Stills kneeling for the anthem and the aftermath of that. He just said this a few weeks ago:

I agree that Chan Gailey's offense was ass. It was a dumb hire in the first place considering he was essentially hired to run an offense for Fitz instead of Tua. No one was mad when he got fired. The problem was that before him was Chad O'Shea, who only lasted one year on the job. Now Gailey was fired after a year. Then, funny enough, they interviewed Mike McDaniel for the OC job and he decided to stay in San Francisco after being promoted from run game coordinator to OC there. We had no other options at that point so we promoted Godsey and Studesville as co-OC's and hired Charlie Frye as QB coach. Except it was a secret as to who called the plays and at one point it was Frye and at other points it was Godsey. Regardless of who called them, they sucked and were all going to get replaced again this offseason, which would have made 5 OC's in 4 years.

This is a quote from Minkah after getting traded:

“We had a difference of opinion in my skill set and what he thought I could do and what I thought I could do,” Fitzpatrick said. “It was going to get tough for me to show something to somebody they were choosing not to see. They didn’t give me the opportunity to show it, even though I had film that showed it. The losing and all that stuff? If I was put in the right position and we’re losing—because of decisions people made upstairs—it is what it is. I can only control how I play. That didn’t affect me at all.

“It was just a fact that I was being used the wrong way. And we had a difference of opinion between myself and the head coach.”

Totally agree on the Titans game. That's the worst I've ever seen Tua play. But that's not the point. You can't have your "franchise QB" (I'm in the Tua is average AF camp) and your coach not on speaking terms after dropping F-bombs at each other in the locker room at halftime. This was also not the first time they had gotten into an argument. I only know this because one of my close friends is Tua's trainer and he was telling me about their lack of a relationship before the season even started.

Again, I say all that to say that I think Flores is a good coach, BUT he rubbed enough people the wrong way to justify him being fired for performance rather than some kind of vendetta for not tanking. When he was fired, Dolphins fans weren't saying "Why?!", we were all saying "How the fukk does Chris Grier have a job still?" I think if Flo gets another shot at being a HC he'll learn from his mistakes, but the point of all this was to simply point out legitimate reasons he was fired in Miami. But all the other allegations? I can definitely see it happening the way he laid out in his lawsuit. I'm solely speaking on this particular portion of it because I follow the team closely and remember all this as it was transpiring.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
I get all that. Assuming that's the case, why not just fire him after that first season then? It wouldn't have been too difficult considering the team only won 5 games. The way Flo was coaching his ass off and with the amount of draft picks we had, it was common knowledge that the team was only going to be getting better. There wouldn't have been a better time to fire him. But saying he was fired 2+ years after the fact on some "the owner is still mad I didn't tank that one year" shyt is just Flo's interpretation of his tenure, when any Dolphins fan can easily point out 10 legitimate reasons his firing was legitimate, some of which I mentioned above.

Because of his rift with the GM, Chris Grier, the owner was forced to make a decision on who to keep. I said it on here at the time, but I thought they both deserved to get fired, but moreso Grier than Flores; and most Dolphins fans would agree.
5 wins IS tanking.. Owner probably was pissed they didn't go 0-16 but 5 wins is good.. Then he started losing again the second season so the owner is still good. He probably just thinks the guy sucks and even though he won't tank, it's getting the same results......

Then he finished 8-0 with a bunch of picks and the chance to pick his QB.... Time to get that Nigg*r out of here

As I mentioned on here I say all of this as a person who never attended an HBCU, but adopted Jackson State and Langston and make sure I send them money every year no strings attached and been doing it for 8 years. At the end of the day jokers need to put up or shut the hell up....period.

This is a good point

I give mad props to brian flores, he's only 40 years old and could have just let this slide and prob get a gig in a year or two but instead he said enough of this BS

I just said the other day white failure retreads like mcdaniels get jobs after jobs even declining jobs and getting another chance.

Josh McDaniels is probably what did it for him, I know that's what did it for me.

I saw he got the Raiders job and I was like,

The NFL has been in existence for 101 years. There has been only 20 Black Head Coaches :mindblown:

These nikkas make me sick they scared to hire a black coach

There's one African GM. You can't say they won't hire black head coaches when so many African American GMs haven't hired black head coaches either .

What black head coach did:

Jerry Reese
Jerry Grier
Ozzie Newsome
Ray Farmer

hire?

I'll salute Rod Graves (Dennis Green), Martin Mayhew (Jim Caldwell), Chris Grier (Brian Flores) though. But to use a sample size of one African is wack.

Plus, a lot of times ownership has to sign off or even make the hire. Sometimes the GM doesn't have hiring power.
