Madness over here, watching MP in parliament is TV gold lol haha

Its crazy though, over half Mays own party voted no brexit deal but they will back her in a confidence vote to keep party in power.

Tories are spineless selfish c*nts. None of the will ever vote to put their seats at risk. Country be damned. :hhh:

Irish reunification, Scottish independence and the complete collapse of the UK is on the horizon. :blessed:
Ngl the DUP holding this corpse of a government together and long term forcing Irish reunification on Irelands terms would be :banderas:

None of this was a secret. Everyone knew the EU would not let you pick the most favourable parts of membership and declining the corresponding responsibilities. All these competing aims between the EU and UK...and within the UK cannot be reconciled.

But the sheer delusion of some hardcore Brexiteers is awe-inspiring.
Brexiteers in 2016: They need us more than we need them. The size of our economy...military...diplomatic clout etc..They will be forced to give us a great deal

Brexiteers in 2017: The EU playing hardball. Why would we want to be a part of an organisation that's being this nasty to their neighbour :pacspit:. We should call their bluff and go for hard Brexit

Brexiteers in 2018: They really willing to let us commit suicide :gucci::damn:

The whole thing was a perfect storm. An overconfident and recently successful David Cameron trying to settle his party's longstanding divisions over Europe...the rise of populism in Europe...the migrant crisis and to be honest the masses didn't really know wtf they were voting for and the reality of it. We had our own Trump,,the original blonde buffoon and his sidekicks just saying whatever they felt like.

@mbewane have you seen this clip before? It's a scene from a classic British sitcom in the 1980s

Sir Humphrey: Minister, Britain has had the same foreign policy objective for at least the last five hundred years: to create a disunited Europe. In that cause we have fought with the Dutch against the Spanish, with the Germans against the French, with the French and Italians against the Germans, and with the French against the Germans and Italians. Divide and rule, you see. Why should we change now, when it's worked so well?
Hacker: That's all ancient history, surely?
Sir Humphrey: Yes, and current policy. We had to break the whole thing [the EEC] up, so we had to get inside. We tried to break it up from the outside, but that wouldn't work. Now that we're inside we can make a complete pig's breakfast of the whole thing — set the Germans against the French, the French against the Italians, the Italians against the Dutch... The Foreign Office is terribly pleased; it's just like old times.
Hacker
: But surely we're all committed to the European ideal?
Sir Humphrey: [chuckles] Really, Minister.
Hacker: If not, why are we pushing for an increase in the membership?
Sir Humphrey: Well, for the same reason. It's just like the United Nations, in fact; the more members it has, the more arguments it can stir up, the more futile and impotent it becomes.
Hacker: What appalling cynicism.
Sir Humphrey: Yes... We call it diplomacy, Minister.

:banderas: Impeccable writing

Can't watch the clips right now but yeah that's exactly why I've always been against the UK in the EU. France vetoed them twice, and was right to do so. The UK has always felt as being insular and, quite often, superior to other Europeans, or at least "special". Hence that all-but forgotten trade organization that was supposed to be a concurrent to the EU, before backing down and getting in...and going from "Give me back my money" to opting out of this and that. Spoiled brats really. And obviously everybody knows that the force behind the EU has always been Germany and France, so obviously the UK's on the sidelines pouting. Indeed, the whole expansion to the East was in part rushed because the US and the UK wanted the powers to be diluted and didn't want more profound integration. They knew it mean less power to France and Germany (and more english being spoken in Brussels) and that Eastern countries would not be on the same page as the founding members and only cared about the business side of the EU, and here we are.

How was everything going before brexit?
The UK Government basically hasn't actually governed anything since the 08 collapse. The Tories are more interested in shrieking about culture wars than being a government.

Surprise, when the government collapses and constantly cuts spending in a state of perpetual austerity, the country falls apart. :ohhh: Thank god there's no members on this site that think that gutting government is the solution for all of life's problems. :troll:

It was better to stay in the EU, now they can't even veto anything

:russ:
It's almost like the UK was a special case that got every single concession they ever wanted and still threw a tantrum that they weren't even more special. :mjlol: Y'all wanted to be Norway, now you get to be Norway. Congrats, you're now part and parcel to EU legislation and trade deals while having no power.

Revel in it.
