My husband's job is pretty secure. He is a partner in the architecture firm. He is also smart with his money and investing. We will be good if something ever happens.
I don't want to build with a man who is BELOW my standards.
Furthermore, women often find themselves on the short end of the stick once these men have "built up." Suddenly he realizes his new found success opens the door to new women and he throws the one that stood by him in the bushes. She can't do shyt about it because she never demanded marriage and she stuck by his broke ass like a damn fool. Years of her life are gone because she decided to rally behind this one broke horse, who dropped her once he got on.
Women have a lot to lose simply standing by broke ninjas. At the very least they need to demand marriage.

Women, by nature, are made to follow the resources.I see no problem with women being gold diggers/economic opportunist.I think it helps men step their game up.
The problem is the lack of wisdom/dumbed down/ignorant/abrasive american bytch mentality behind it.
Like anything else in life, there's a price to pay for gold digging.You better break your neck trying to keep me stress free if you intend on gold digging my shyt.I want meals with proper nutritional value for me and the children...selflessness, sacrifice, and the final say.With practice, it might actually turn into a genuine love for one another.
I think love is a business that you have to learn how to master as a team.All that sappy/mushy/romantic/obsessed with happiness/ bullshyt version of "love" is for the birds.
Not saying that it couldn't turn into that OVER TIME, but people want to skip all the work, and experience that stage of "love" right off the bat.Especially the new generation.It's instant gratification like a muthafukkah.
