It's on these "young black men" to pull themselves up....I just don't think it's right for them to expect black women to stick by their sides and offer all the benefits of marriage without marriage. Asking women to be poor with you is not going to work in this day and age. If you are broke you need to sidestep dating until you get yourself together rather than expect women to just accept your broke bullshyt.

The men I know making between $10-$15 are living paycheck to paycheck. No 401k. No IRA. No pension. No type of investments. Most don't have health insurance and their savings is almost non-existent. They don't own their own homes (and haven't even considered how they will afford one if they ever decide to buy a home). On top of that their credit sucks.

Funny enough...none of the above has encouraged them NOT to procreate.

the guy I'm dating right now works minimum wage at a restaurant and I'm perfectly fine with that. We are both in college working to become better citizens of society. I had athletes who are now pro who wanted me but I chose him. When I try to explain to some women, they just look at me like I'm crazy. There are far more important things than money when it comes to picking a man. We both don't have any cars but we have the best time of our lives when we're together. I just hope we end up together in the long run

As for the economic collapse....I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. The rich get richer during recessions and depressions. The only people who will suffer are those probably already suffering or were on the verge of suffering due to poor economic education. The United States is not about to turn into Russia after the czar was overthrown. At the most, our government will make a pitiful attempt to redistribute the wealth...that's about it.

Thanks. I try to stay optimistic but sometimes reality likes to slap me in my face. He's the perfect guy for me and everything I hate about him are reasons why I care for him even more.
But sometimes it gets to me b/c I don't believe in sex outside of marriage and I know he is a man so I don't know what entails down the line. Like I said we just started dating and we're not bf/gf yet and that's part of the reason why.
