That's what I keep telling folks! There's a reason they are going the buyout route. They can't just fire government employees that aren't political appointees it's illegal. A majority of federal employees aren't taking the buyout either because of how vague it is and no guarantees baked into it. Plus it's not appropriated by Congress so there is no money to even pay folks. They throw this out for people who don't read beyond the headline to run like a chicken with their head cut off. That way they can do the more underhanded stuff behind the scenes. Now I do believe there will be a shutdown next month to try to inflict maximum pain on federal worker to get them to quit voluntarily. But they also forgot that they baked into law that furloughed employees are guaranteed back pay and benefits so people will go and do something else until the government is back open to keep the economy from crashing. Again he's surrounded by idiots we have a grand idea of how they want things but don't understand the system they're trying to change lol

That’s basically “startup” culture. 10-16 hour days with people taking on more than the role they signed up for.

I m sure not many Federal employees signed up for that. Especially when they’re not getting Big Tech salaries. shyt, tech employees don’t want to work Big Tech despite the crazy salaries. That's because alot of the folks that want to trim the fat are angry that they didn't get a federal job. Usually because they fail to meet the basic qualifications for the job. So they work dead end jobs and are angry at the world because they didn't apply themselves. I know some folks that wouldn't even give up smoking for a week just to pass a drug test to get in now. They throw jabs that I'm not at at work. Naw I'm just using my PTO you can't be mad that Olive Garden isn't offering the same benefits lol

Its not even that, its the amount of skill and knowledge that will be lost. It takes over a year to properly train someone, then it takes several more years to actually get someone up to a decent standard.
