this is not about war, this is more about becoming self sufficient and protecting yourself, even it was... your instinct as a man is to take care of youruself, this same instinct applies to nations...
let's keep it common sense here... your options are do nothing or attempt to become independent, how do you do that?
I respect you for even attempting to answer, most people in this thread jus tear up their dresses and scream and cry because they disagree with the current path many nations are taking now.

The second you start looking at countries like Russia to help, you’re only digging the hole deeper and getting manipulated.
If you need to build the bomb you need to build the bomb. The best ally would provide protection for doing it and times right now really expose how vital it is to have/build one.
Difference is that a lot of these countries that are nuclear-ready armed up at a crazy point in history. North Korea got the weapon because the Soviet and China basically told other countries they can’t touch it while it builds their nuclear arsenal. Pakistan built their weapon because of U.S and European Protection “Atoms for Peace” program. These are from 50 years ago before countries deemed “End of the World” scenarios and nuclear peace treaties. These were all done during times where it was a nuclear race and nuclear allies were being formed: countries didn’t have to make deals it was simply more understandable.
Now it’s difficult. Any kind of deal with Russia or China right now for protection to build a nuclear weapon will mean a seriously uneven trade.
Iran right now is mainly building it for themselves. There is some support from Russia and China, but highly minimal and there has been no formal military statement saying they’re protecting them. Iran is basically making it using their own protection of in-house ICBM’s they’ve built: the ones they showed Israel/America/Europe their defenses can’t stop from hitting Israel last year and that they have thousands of in addition to newer tech. They have an advantage that they can strike Europe/Israel/allies themselves and it’s why nobody is stopping them from building one underneath a mountain. They basically let it be known they were going to level Israel (at the very least) if you try and stop them from making one. So countries are going to let them make it.
The main thing is that countries armed up during a time of the nuclear arms race and they didn’t miss the window. Currently, this is the A.I arms race era and countries need to be asking themselves if they’re missing that window now.
