So Porzingis can go to Portland and tease everyone and give Dame cover
Why is Dame so intent on not leaving Portland??
Casuals. A team like Miami adding Beal is a great acquisition.Bradley Beal as a second or third option is great..
The hell nikkas talking about
Not at his current contract it isn't. That's everyone's point.Casuals. A team like Miami adding Beal is a great acquisition.
Because it's irrelevant. "Oh no they were so much better than bron he HAD to team up..." fukk outta here
Miami’s been to the Finals two of the last four years and to the conference finals three of the last four. The time to win is right now with this Butler core. If they think he’s the part that puts them over the hump, the contract isn’t a big stumbling block. Not at his current contract it isn't. That's everyone's point.
Small market teams in general don't have an issue drafting. Can they pay the guys they've drafted in Year 5 while going out and even attracting free agents, let alone being in the front of the line to pay them? That answer is no.I don't understand why the league keeps making it harder to build
Stop protecting the owners from themselves
The onus should be on these front offices to make wise decisions with how they spend money
This is ridiculous
The Warriors situation with KD was some shyt that won't be replicated
Steph was on a dirt cheap contract because of his ankle problems which alllowed them to sign KD outright.
You can have a championship team in small markets if you make the right decisions and draft wisely.
The NBA was wylin with this new CBA
Cheap owners got spooked when the Warriors started eating $200+ mil luxury tax payments and still won a title
That’s the long and the short of it
They pushed for these second apron rules in hopes it’ll never happen again
Beal didn't ask out. A new GM wants to start from scratch.Beal should get more hate than LeBron or KD did....at least they were up front with there intentions of non competing this nikka pretending he wanted to be loyal and asked out after the first year the worst of the 3 options....I remember this dude on twitter 2 years crying about he cant win no matter what he does.
Is it really being cheap to not want to eat $200M+ in tax when the actual cap isn't even that high? And like I said to @Joe Sixpack here and on other threads in general, the only franchises who could/would ever entertain that are in Bay Area-sized markets.Cheap owners got spooked when the Warriors started eating $200+ mil luxury tax payments and still won a title

Kill the max salary in what way?I’ve said for a long time that the solution is to kill the max salary and implement a hard cap, but none of that will ever happen so it’s a moot discussion
Funny that you mention that considering that the bulk of teams in the league are shytty when it comes to drafting and player development hence them having to spend that type of money in the first place to create a team. A lot of these teams have been terrible at that aspect for years and these CBA changes aren’t going to change that.Beal didn't ask out. A new GM wants to start from scratch.

Now teams in every market need to be smarter about who they draft and who they give Powerball money to, not just small ones.
What’s weird is, this also hurts teams like OKC who have hoarded young talent and picks. Even if they draft exceedingly well, they can’t keep everyone. Now teams in every market need to be smarter about who they draft and who they give Powerball money to, not just small ones.
The problem with the salary structure is the true stars are vastly underpaid. If you the true top 5 guys get paid whatever the market will bear PLUS you have a hard cap, all these other problems will naturally solve themselves.Kill the max salary in what way?
Don't agree with the hard cap though.
A team like OKC will likely be alright as the bulk of their young guys extensions don’t kick until 3-4 years down the road when the new CBA will halfway be over. Now a team like Orlando, should probably be worried since some of their young guys are due extensions soon. What’s weird is, this also hurts teams like OKC who have hoarded young talent and picks. Obviously they’ve maxed out SGA and he’s a 1st team All-NBA. They’re also gonna have to break bread for Giddey, Chet hasn’t even played, Jalen Williams looks like the real deal, plus what happens if they draft a legit all star with their treasure trove?
