Everyone knows the fukked up conditions that many of us live in but nothing has been done because they don't care and people are for themselves. Its a cold and heartless world. What we must do is make the most of what we have. We can't let people who look like us send messages to young impressionable minds.

The virus that I speak of? Look around. Black men are getting killed in my city everyday and it has nothing to do with music. Dudes are on the block all day. They aren’t at home watching music videos. These rappers that we criticize are influenced by that. Institutionalized racism is the issue but it’s up to us to operate within that. Nobody is gonna help us but us. For things to change we have to start at the root of the problem

Every time this thread is made I have to remind OP that the music is a symptom of what’s really going on in the streets. If we want the music to change than our entire culture needs to change. nikkas out here on the streets really living that life aren’t being influenced by rappers and music videos. If anything they are the ones influencing the rappers and music videos

Yup we need to go at these record companies and we need to look within ourselves. Chief Keef is always used as an example in these threads. Dude was like 16 or 17 and got a million dollar deal. Yet look where he’s from. Keef is a young impressionable mind himself especially when he got his deal. If anything Keef’s community failed him. You think a 16 year old Chief Keef knew about black progression? You think he knew anything about black economics? The company that signed him exploited him and his community that raised him failed him. If anything that million dollar deal prolly saved his life

I hope you're volunteering somewhere to help instead of just pointing fingers and blaming...
