Every time this thread is made I have to remind OP that the music is a symptom of what’s really going on in the streets. If we want the music to change than our entire culture needs to change. nikkas out here on the streets really living that life aren’t being influenced by rappers and music videos. If anything they are the ones influencing the rappers and music videos

fact of the matter is that the majority of black people that made the most money in U.S history was from sports & entertainment..so if a rapper choose to get paid to talk about a lifestyle that they're accoustomed to then so be it :yeshrug:

the fake ones that never lived the life or was around it is the ones i got a problem with

Nah man. That's a fukking cop out. If u made it out the hood you should not be making music that promotes killing your own people.

It's over in generall. Never would i thought that I'd hear a rap song called my choppa hates n-ggas with a line calling his gun the kkk. And the majority of blacks are consuming it. It's over man.
I can't play none of that shyt fam. It blows my mind. What's worse is that I go to a lot of bars and see people that don't fukk with Black people reciting these lyrics and it makes me uncomfortable. Cacs really love this ignorant music not even on the low.

I posted a story on here about having a dj friend who is white and he was playing trap sets at parties for hipster cacs and they got shook and switched the format as soon as a Black audience started hitting the events. They said the crowd was getting "ugly" as code language..

Black people that consume this music need to witness the other side of it and see that it's being used to paint them as stereotypes in society. These same cacs that get lit with you to some music won't hire you at a job or want you in their neighborhood because they think your a savage and you told them that. Doesn't matter that they dance with you. Cacs don't think it's just entertainment. Neither does the rest of the world. Media is powerful.

Most of these rappers don’t make it out the hood tho. Most of these guys still have one foot in the streets. You can’t expect someone to change overnight after they went from nothing to something. If anything the money makes them more of what they already are

I never said it was ok but what they talk about is no different than what is being said on the streets. Y’all wanna keep blaming the music but hip hop could literally stop being made tomorrow and we will still have these issues in our communities. We need to attack the virus and not just the symptoms

and despite what people may believe this isn't exclusive to just the U.S so its not just hip hop/rap at all its a small part but definitely not the problem .....

Nonsense. If rap ended tomorrow no one would use the n-word anymore. :troll:

Sadly people here actually have said that too. :martin: A lot of the anti-hip hop people here use Fox News talking points.

What is this virus u speak off? Listen up man. Let me give you a reality check, we are not getting reparations. Institutional racism is not going away. The hood will always be the hood. Everyone knows the fukked up conditions that many of us live in but nothing has been done because they don't care and people are for themselves. Its a cold and heartless world. What we must do is make the most of what we have. We can't let people who look like us send messages to young impressionable minds.

That isn't the issue. The issue is outsiders exploiting that and in turn doing serious damage to the black community. The fact that people associate hip hop (of any kind) with black culture is fukked! Folk won't talk to me about rock but will expect me to be into the latest c00n-rap.
