It's also funny when these dumbass mfers on social media and this very website say that nobody drives in NYC.

People are so wildly out of touch with the average citizen that it's mind boggling to me at this point.
Traffic is unbearable in all of the 5 boroughs. Try find parking in The Bronx after a certain time. :heh: You can get clapped over parking in NYC. It’s that serious.

Now you know why when someone from NYC is able to buy car, they will never, ever step foot in a train/bus for as long they have a car. They’d rather deal with traffic.

wrong wrong wrong, people park their cars near subway stations all the time to catch the train into t]he city, i've opted to use the train instead of driving into the city more times than i can remember just to avoid having to deal with parking and looking for parking.

4 years ago...now she's nowhere to be found. Dems have been obliterated on this issue. Obliterated.

No one likes to drive to the city but anywhere else and you have a car? Nah.

You think I wanna take a fukking train to The Bronx from Queens? Or from Queens to Brooklyn?

And these idiot progressive (neoliberal shills) keep sucking these anti-car non-profits dikks so when the DOT wants to remove parking spaces the shyt gets done regardless of how it affects that community.

Transit police will bother or patrol legal paying riders before the illegal ones.
No lies.

And when you do need someone from MTA they're not around, they all been victims of budget cuts.

There was a time when every station had a booth and a clerk inside like this:

Of course by the mid 2000s they started removing these and moving these people to different departments.

I can give you a good 5 stations in NYC off the top of my head where there used to be a booth and the outline on the ground is still there, they ripped them all out.

This is another big reason why people jump the turnstiles.

There’s too many cars though. I just want NYC to be more walkable like a lot of these Western Euro cities. Difference is that their metro services are way better than the ones we have here.

One time I swiped my MetroCard and it said "just used" so I'm like wtf? I just stepped foot in this station :wtf:

So I move five feet to my left and the clerk was right there the whole time, I'm like "Sir, can you let me through it's saying I've used it already"

This fool gave me a wild attitude like how dare I speak to him, told me to wait the 15 min time before I tried it again.

But if I was a lunatic and jumped the turnstile he wouldn't flinch or look up because that would mean he would have to file a report and call the station police.

They ain't trying to do all that, would rather just look down at their phone while goons jump the turnstile and cause all types of chaos on the trains.

Smh.

My Pops Forever RIP
shyt happens. Head on a swivel.
The NYC subway has basically reverted to the way it was in the 80s and 90s. Gross. Unfriendly and a hotbox for addicts, criminals, miscreants and the homeless.
it's been that way. Show me a time when the Subway was tolerable and I'll show you the 6 train.

It was not always like this.

The problem is the rideshare vehicles

There needs to be a 70% reduction in rideshare vehicles on the road.

But that idiot Adams allowed them to increase to 100k vehicles on the road so now we have thousands of Ubers and Lyfts just taking up space looking for fares causing unnecessary traffic.

Yet another reason why I'm done with the Democratic Party after June.

Let me throw in my opinion on something, I'm not sure if it's been mentioned,

I've been saying for years that NYC needs to crack down on people jumping the turnstiles, this is how a lot of the problems (crime) start in the subway system, people that don't belong on trains being on trains. From homeless people, to drifters, panhandlers, to kids acting a fool on the subways, non-paying riders causing all types of chaos amongst those paying customers who do belong on the trains and are simply trying to get from point A to point B.

Now, is this going to prevent 100% of the subway crimes? No. Will it help in reducing it? As a rider for 30 years, I certainly believe so.

I have a feeling that this animal who burned this lady had no business being on the train.

I've seen it with my own two eyes several times, someone jumps the turnstiles and cops are less than 20 feet away and do nothing. I saw a woman one time walk up to an officer and pointed someone going through the doors without paying, and the officer just gave her the Stephen A. Smith smiley face.

I know two police officers, and I've asked them this question, why don't y'all do anything against these people on the train? Why don't y'all arrest homeless people on the trains or take them into a shelter or something? And both told me without hesitation, "yeah we ain't trying to bring someone in like that, do all that paperwork and have a bum at the station with all their garbage that they drag around with them, then they get released within 48 hours, other cops be looking down on you and calling you out for bringing in 'trash'..." their words verbatim.

It seems like no one in NYC ever wants to have this conversation, cracking down on this on at the turnstiles should be a priority but it's just not. The only time I ever remember seeing any news outlet talking about this was NY1 News way back in like 2004, and it was a quick 3-5 minute segment.

Homeless people and bums should not be in the subway period.

Problem is that's not just an issue of policing. Like they said even if they take them away they'll come right back. I don't think you can put officers at every single turnstile to stop them from getting on.

I didn't really know what you can do with those people without taking extreme measures. A lot of them can't be re-acclimated into society. Might as well build a compound upstate to house them. Ship them out of the city .
