This makes no sense because Black folk still have roughly the same % of the electorate that they've always had. The Asian and Latino voters are replacing WHITE voters, and Asians/Latinos are more likely to support reparations than White people are.....so increasing Asian/Latino population should mean more likelihood of reparations passing, not less.


According to this poll, 77% of Black voters, 39% of Latino voters, 33% of Asian voters, and 18% of White voters support reparations for Black descendants of slavery. Democrats are split 49-48 in their support of reparations, while Republicans oppose it 91 to 8. Younger voters are almost split on reparations, while older voters are nearly 90% against it.

Reparations won't have a real chance of passing until Black support is over 90%, Latino/Asian support is at least 50%, and White support gets up to at least 40% or so. Or if reparations support among Democracts moves to 70+% and Democrats somehow gain huge or extremely resolute majorities in both houses.

You'll need higher majorities and even then it would be stuck in the court system for years waiting till it gets to the supreme Court for a 6-3 vote killing it on a slow news Friday.

How I see the cycle playing out:

-Black Americans are rightfully owed reparations

-They cant ask Republicans because they'll say foh

-Democrats are the only ones who will listen so they reluctantly put together some meetings and a bill that they know has almost zero percent chance of going through

-Republicans use this as a weapon to get black people mad at Democrats and siphon some of them off


White people(Republicans) figured out how to use reparations to benefit themselves politically while black people still get nothing.
