Stop the Wall slander breh.. He started the season poor but Wall is the primary reason why this team has been revitalized the past two years.

its not slander

We were hoping Wall would be an MVP candidate type player by now and its likely never going to happen unless he legitimately starts shooting closer to 50% from the field and closer to 40% from 3 and cuts out the turnovers while putting up 20-25 PPG with 10 assists per night while being one of the best defenders in the game.

THAT'S the guy we thought we'd have after taking him #1 and 5 years of experience. Maybe a PG friendly coach could bring his numbers up.

But he's never going to be that guy. All star level, yes. Good defensively. But does he have that killer instinct? That it factor Paul Pierce talked about? I don't think so and that's what @mastermind is saying.

I don't doubt John works hard but he doesn't work smart on his game.

He can't really dribble either. Him and Wall seem to suffer from the same thing. Both have the talent and a little of what it takes but don't put in the extra work in to really be next level.

I think Brad puts in more work than John

But despite all of it, he still has the same habits and isn't taking the leap.

Beal shows up in the playoffs :yeshrug:

I guess that's a positive, you can't say that about a lot of the guys in the league. But yeah Beal is not a max, he gets hurt WAYYYYYY too often and is so inconsistent it's really impossible to gauge what type of player he is. Some games, he can get to the paint and finish anytime he wants, can shoot off the dribble, knocks down his threes.. Other games he looks like he can't even dribble and bricks open shots. He was embarrassing last night turning the ball over in nearly every Pick and Roll situation. I'm going to give him this season before i'm ready to throw him in the bushes but Beal is looking really funny.

Chris Paul irritates me. But he's arguably the best PG in the sport.

He makes every mid range jumper, he is good from 3, his defense is still decent, he makes everyone better, he just chokes in the playoffs.
I agree with all your points, but playoffs is probably what's making me hold Wall up so high. He really impressed me the past cpl years even though his shooting fell off a cliff.

The Wizards cant put Gilbert on the payroll and have him tutor one of them nikkas? Especially Wall

Prime Arenas would have this Wiz squad top 2 lock in the East

He will get the max even if the Wizards don't give it to him. He's got his flaws but a lot of these young cats do and some are lesser players then him. He is still young and can shoot the ball at an elite level. For that he will get the max contract next year.
