The Lauri situation is another reason the celts wouldnt have won if they didn't switch to Stevens as GM. Danny wants to win every trade instead of making a decision and going for it. Either build around lauri or straight up tank. He keeps half assing this shyt.

what's confusing? he put up his worst season ever on a team that had far more ways to hide his flaws *and* the obligation to prop him up to make the poole trade not look as bad.

the spurs are built to cater to wemby, not him - and slowing down an offense that can't space the floor at all only makes it easier for teams to defend SA, not harder.

My point is why would Chris Paul be a negative to the Spurs when the Spurs themselves have the same exact record before Wemby and Wemby's first season?

2022-23 season: 22-60 record
2023-24 season: 22-60 record

All that "fast pace" amazing offense did absolutely nothing to put a dent in making the Spurs a better team. Maybe the Spurs front office wants to see what an elder hall of point guard can do to for Wemby's development outside of Tik Tok highlights and "vibes"

franz had that bad game 7, but he's been excellent for them since he went to ORL

it's crazy people don't think he deserves the max.
If you think certain players out here don’t deserve the max, then it’s only fair that it’s applied to rookies as well.

Whether they get it is one question, whether they deserve it is another.

He regressed this past season and shot 28% from three. I don't know why the fukk these teams are always in a rush to extend guys after their third year. Use restricted free agency to your advantage.

It's very difficult for me to imagine someone offering Franz this kinda money. Also, who the fukk would want to trade for him with the new apron rules?

chris would be a negative no matter what - but the spurs, unlike his last year with phx and with gs, have zero reason to hide his flaws.

if they slow down, that's more opportunities to collapse and focus wemby. and with their lack of shooting, getting as many possessions as they can is the best way to cover that gap too. if you want to get super reductive and say its the same team pre and post wemby you got it though lol.

but the reality is they have to get up and down to keep wemby from getting bracketed by set defenses and to minimize the fact that they can't hit a 3 let alone generate an open one. again, its easier to defend a poor shooting team when they play at a pace that allows you to sit down on everyone.

so chris in 2016? sure. chris now? he can't even get to the line anymore off a GS whistle. dude is getting all kinds of name recognition bump when he brings less to a team than derrick rose.
