Finished The Gunslinger by Stephen King. It's been a little since I finish a book in within 24 hours. Granted it was only 251 pages 😅. It took me nearly 60 to 70 pages to actually get into the story. Read that the Dark Tower series gets better so I'm looking forward to reading the rest

Just finished reading The Drawing of the Three. Really liked the first and third doors. The Detta Walker parts were difficult to read because of the outlandish way King wrote her. It did get to the put hear I just laughed and shook my head. All of the "white honkies" was funny though :mjlol:

Finished The Eyes of the Dragon by King several days ago. Pure fairy tale fantasy by King that is very different from everything else I have read from him. The way it's written made me think of The Princess Bride with how it's a parent reading it as a bedtime story, and that may be way I enjoyed it more when I read it in bed as opposed to during the day.
There is a part in The Drawing of the Three that is a direct reference to the end of this book.
Seems like a lot of people online in the King fandom that don't like this book but I was into it

:whew: finished reading The Waste Land this morning. The adventure of the Ka-tet had officially started in this book. There was a sexual assault section they made me go :beli::snoop: but other than that hiccup I loved everything else. He really starts to build his connections with books outside of the Dark Tower in this one. I wasn't planning of reading Wizards & Glass next but I might just given the way this book ended

Finished Wizard and Glass this morning, the fourth book in the Dark Tower series. The book is like 90% flashback but in that trip to Roland's past was the fantasy western story I thought the series would be. I can see how some people would be annoyed that it strays away from the main story but I thought it was a great spaghetti western homage. I'm think about taking a little break from DT and maybe King in general for a little before I hop back in.

Took a break from the Dark Tower series and read Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy over the weekend. :whew: I see why it has been called "unfilmable". Nearly continuous violence from beginning to end and unfiltered brutality.
I saw a quote that referred it as manifest destiny without the glory. The Judge might be one of the best (not sure if that's the right word 😅) antagonist I have read so far

Last week I stuck with reading short stories.

Books of Blood by Clive Barker
The Book of Blood

You Like It Darker by Stephen King
The Fifth Step
Willie the Weirdo
On Slide Inn Road
Red Screen

Night Shift by Stephen King
Jerusalem's Lot
Night Surf
The Mangler
The Boogeyman
The Lawnmower Man
One for the Road

That was my first time reading Clive Barker and I was really impressed by his prose. I look forward to reading more from him

Just finished The Way of Kings: Book one of the Stormlight Archive.
I thought the rep it got was just hype but it was a really fun book to read. I got Mistborn so I'll be reading that in the near future
