Still though you gotta admit that that was a plot hole...plus the pops was terminal and only had a year to live as of the last season...ehh who knows.

It's definitely a plot hole bc we have no idea how he made his way back to NJ or how he stayed in touch with Gillian (if he did at all)....we are left to speculate and make shyt up at this point

So, we're supposed to believe that Tommy, for some reason left where ever he was and came back to Atlantic City, got in contact with his grandma that had been locked in an asylum for the last 7 years, was bumming around AC until Mickey Doyle, Nucky's right hand man, just happened to select him to work with Nucky and after multiple opportunities to kill him, waited until after he was arrested, and used his 1 phone call to hit Nuck's private line, Nuck, who had given up all power in AC, just happened to be in that room to pick up the call, bailed him out and despite just getting out of jail was able to get a weapon, shortly after revealing who he was

corny and predictable, rushed season, we needed 2 seasons but instead they gave us a short one only. fukk hbo im heated

The message and overall theme of this season made sense and was pretty good. What Nucky did with Gillian was a decision that defined who he was and wanted to be. The whole shows theme was greed and that moment basically encapsulated it. Every character fit within the theme of greed. Jimmy, Capone, Lucky and crew, Kennedy, Margret etc etc. The wanting a quarter while having a nickel metaphor. Everything fit pretty well.

Saying all that, the execution was really bad. Re-introducing tommy seemed like something that they thought was clever but seemed forced as hell. I'm not gonna even go into the plot holes bc yall pretty much covered it already. I watched this show from day one and hate to see it go out like this. the first few season are still great and this won't ruin them for me. Still such a missed opportunity to be the GOAT show.

my exact thoughts. wrapped up perfectly. A couple letters can turn a kid into a stone cold killer .

And Gillian would make her grandson throw away his future for a pointless revenge
