Well, we're one ep in so I dunno what they're trying to accomplish with the character. He seems like a complete psychopath.

The way his intro was set up I assumed he was a new gangster coming to town to start shyt. Chaotic as fukk, a total wild card. Then he popped up at Nucky's party I was like :krs:

I thought he just crashed the party. Then he walks up like "sup" I was like :wtf:

:russ:

Like I said him at the dinner table was like watching Comedy Central's Roast. I got no problem with how over top he is here. I mean we got a nikka that refers to himself in third person on the show. :dwillhuh:

Remus is harmless though. It's already been established Gyp is a lunatic. So why would Nucky do business with him in the first place? Don't make much sense IMO. If you look at the scene where he goes off on everyone at the table....look at who they are, compared to him. None of them are remotely close to the type of character he is.

He was on his Don Rickles shyt, just going at people's ethnicity and shyt. No fukks were given.

I mean, the dude had quotables in the season 3 trailer. We were going :dwillhuh: when he hadn't even been in an episode.

What's that? A gun? I got a gun. He got a gun. He got a gun... Everybody got guns!
Not personal? What the f**k is life, if it's not personal?!

That's why I think he was bought it to spice up Nucky's storyline. Until this point I was looking forward to the side characters more but now I want to see how this guy fukks things up for Nucky just as much.

having him as this completely over the top character could potentially take away from future Capone and Luciano tyrades. Rosetti is like the Mr. Hyde of each of them, and it seems like that's him all the time. might get old

Nah....I mean I get why he exists as a character. And I got 0 problems with his character. The new promo and his "everybody got guns!" speech is :noah:

I'm saying, in the reality of the show, given how careful Nucky is....he deals with professionals. If you look at the table, he has Luchiano, Rothstein, Remus, etc....then you got Gyp, who beat a man to death basically for nothing. Seems to me this guy's psychopathic behavior would've been obvious to someone as cautious as Nucky long before the table scene happened, so I dunno why he'd break bread with the dude to begin with.

“If Harrow is now the show’s heart, Jimmy Dormandy remains its soul.”

Harrow aint gonna run with Nucky, he there to school Jimmy's son. Shiits fantastic. Show accomplished so much in the first episode.

Yeah I get you, It doesn't make sense that Nucky even decided to hear him out but I don't think the dinner scene makes him look like a psycho it just made him look belligerent as fukk. Dude is like Nicky Santoro/Tommy DeVito (both psychos with legenary tempers) that still managed to work with saner dudes Jimmy Conway/Henry Hill.

All those guys you named had known each other for years. And even then they were fringe elements, not partners, because of how wild they were. In "Casino" Sam was always like  "the fukk is this guy up to now?". Even in "Goodfellas" when Tommy got whacked they knew he had it coming, for all the shyt he pulled.

This is only a couple years later, so I'm kinda confused how Nucky would even meet Gyp. It's not a big deal, just kinda odd.

And I didn't mean the table scene, I meant his intro. Son killed ol boy by the car for nothing, then jacked him for his dog.

first ep was decent to good, nucky might be the most boring and unlikeable leading character on tv though.

Why did Rosetti kill dude in the begining? My girl was talking and I wasn't paying attention.

Because he's a psycho. There was no real reason for it.

The bystander made Rosetti look ignorant. It was a harmless comment though but Rosetti's psycho mind took it hard. :manny:
