i mean.... i feel like there is no reason to say this other than throwing shade because i thought tech folks are supposed to be smart. for example, i can't imagine a qualified legal mind getting "scammed" by hr. i assume they can do their own diligence to get where they need to be. if you getting scammed by hr, maybe building cars that people drive 70mph everyday is not for you

I think recruiter scams are aimed at people who want to do software engineering but don't have an education based in computer science/engineering.

Basically any "recruiter" charging an upfront fee to get you an interview at a big tech company.

Anyone that tells you coding is 'easy' either has been coding since they were 9 and likely with a family that helped them or they are on easy projects. It's not impossibly difficult but it is fairly challenging. I'd recommend starting with javascript since you can do front-end, back-end, robotics and much more.

It isn't. It also isn't for everyone.

I'm an engineer at a FAANG tier company and I do interviews. I try to prioritize black candidates because the company has very little diversity. This defeatist attitude hurts everybody.
