Homeowner Who Shot At Teen Asking For Directions To School Charged With Attempted Murder

I'm glad.

He was trying to find the Bus Route - or another Bus stop on the route in the neighborhood.. He went to other homes trying to find another bus stop on the route which are often in front of someone's home.

Neighbor Sherry McFee told WWJ that the teen went to her house before the one at which he was shot at.

"He came to our house about 8:15 and said that he was lost, he was trying to find Rochester High School and follow the bus route. And my husband came out and gave him directions, which unfortunately led to the wrong house," she said.

McFee said the teen was very polite, dressed appropriately and looked like a high school student, posing no threat whatsoever.​

I remember when I had a part time job at the college down here and I ain't have no car and had to walk through white neighborhoods and I ain't just a any black guy I'm over six feet, dreadlocks I'd look like a threat. Wondering if it's more or less suspicious to walk closer to the streets so they don't think I'm peaking in their house or some shyt. Same job got me pulled over on the side of the road because a black guy in a white t-shirt burglarized a dorm. we take for granted how difficult it is to follow directions without an apparatus to help properly orient ourselves. He unfortunately had to go to multiple houses that was left out of the other story smh.

The Detroit-area homeowner who shot in the head 19-year-old Renisha McBride was found guilty of murder Thursday afternoon. The jury found him guilty on all three charges — second-degree murder, manslaughter, and felony firearm — on its second day of deliberations.

McBride was shot dead in the early hours of November 2 outside 54-year-old Theodore Wafer’s Dearborn Heights, Michigan, home. McBride’s family and police believe McBride was in a car accident, and knocked on Wafer’s door for help after her cell phone died.
