you do know that generational wealth is literally a person creating wealth and then... passing it down to the next generation right you confused dumbasses. Like it’s not something that just happens, actions have to be taken for it to happen.

Same with generational opportunity .

Ryan Coogler was poor and homeless, likely because his parents were poor, (like most people who are poor)

Through hard work, he is no longer poor, which means his children will not be poor, which is generational wealth. There are other means of gen. Wealth and opportunity besides creating businesses which is the go to argument for faux militants. Entrepreneurship is one way to create wealth, but not the only way. Fact is most people, regardless of race DO NOT OWN BUSINESSES.

His working for marvel and his other films means that he passes down (one day) a black director to also get the same opportunities he did.

The same way Denzel Washington and Will Smith paved a way for Michael B Jordan who eats directly off of work that Sidney Poitier put in, in old Hollywood, as did Washington and Will Smith.

Is that so hard to understand? It has to be created.

If you were poor, and you are not now, your children will not be (for their childhood)

Create wealth and opportunity by bettering your situation. Don’t complain, just work

The cast of BP, are all creating future opportunity for blacks And I’m sure for their families

Not symbolism, facts

Not talking about the imagery of BP, but the work.

Big pieces of Denzel Washington’s career is only possible because of Sidney Poitier, and Denzel Washington started a whole new avenue of wealth that he’ll pass down to his children

His son is here because of his father, who’s here partly because of Poitier

Who grew up outside of Poverty because of work his father put in.

How’s this a lie

Sidney Poitier > Denzel Washington > Will Smith > Michael B Jordan > John Boyega

That’s not passing down opportunity ? :patrice:

anyone you can't understand the basis of this is intellectually absent.

Does anyone spend their checks within the BC? This imaginary world y’all live in I swear.
Dude, the cast of BP are not going to exclusively spend their earnings in the black community.

This COMIC BOOK MOVIE isnt a renaissance of economic empowerment.

The cast will spend their money with, who they BEEN spending it with before they where even cast for the movie.

And its not exclusively with the black community.

The problem the Coli has is they want a knight in shining armor or a group of them to emerge from nowhere and be a black mogul starting a studio that immediately competes with the Big Five/Six Hollaood studios. This doesn't hapen with capital, which is made through opportunity. OP is right in his regard. The ideal of Black blockbusters from Black studios is probably a good 40 years away.

If a Black Hollywood in a nearer future is really the issue, we need to question the desire of the vanguards of Black acting who have made enough bread (Will, Denzel, Sam Jack, Tyler) and people who made bread outside of movies (Oprah, Hov, Diddy, Dre, Master P, Russell) to pool their resources and create Black Hollywood.

Very few black people living the the US, Canada, or UK spend their money EXCLUSIVELY in the black community.

OP in here seriously making the assumption that the seed of these famous black people aren't gonna shack up with some alabaster demon/demoness, sending that wealth right back into the hands of the enemy. :mjlol:

Capitalism = White Supremacy

Giving your earned value to a capitalist system further fuels white supremacy, no matter who are the guys up front getting the money. But considering that capitalism/WS is an all encompassing force at the moment and outside of being completely off the grid there is no way to escape I am excited to see a black super hero movie starring primarily blacks.

I don’t understand why y’all nikka don’t realize that at the end of the day it’s a Marvel comic movie which always does well. It don’t matter who’s in it, people are gonna watch. This does not mean anything for black peoples other than the nikkas in it :heh:

What’s really coming is y’all Ignoring all of the other all black cast movies/classics we have, but it ain’t made and sponsored by white zaddy nor has a larg cac viewing so they don’t matter to y’all :Tulupe:

So if you know very few, if any, people exclusively put their money in the black community, what was the point in bringing it up to counter the potential positive effects of the film?
I dont have any issues with the potential positive effects of the film.

Op is saying that because of the FILM the actors will spend their hard earned dollars in the black community, whereas the inclination is they where not before, yet the comic book character made movie is supposed to change a whole consciousness of people?

After Earth, Miracle at St Anna, and Birth of a nation all should have been black blockbusters. Those were major films created and produced by black people and black companies and black folks didn't support them. Had black folks supported them that would have paved the way for those same black studios to do even bigger projects.

But since black folks didn't support there is almost 0 incentive for black actors and moguls to stick there neck out and risk their money and careers after they see black folks didn't support Nate parker, spike lee, or will smith the way they should have.

Capitalism is not white supremacy. Capitalism is just a system of private ownership and trade.

Now the laws and institutions set up by the us government that influence Capitalism in America are arguably white supremacist. But Capitalism itself is a neutral system.
