Scorpion Lord was waaay harder than Duskveil for me. The most frustrating boss yet along with Kang Jin Loong. It didn't take me as many tries as Yellow Loong but I got more pissed off because I could see how I could beat him, but every time I had a good run he threw a bullshyt combo that eventually got me before I even had a chance to heal up
Having Yellow Loong as my transformation was the game changer though, once I figured he was the one to use, took me like 3 tries and the fukker was gone
It helped with Dusveil and Hundred Eyes Daoist, those were way more simple to figure out. I think I killed HED on my first try
Yeah Yellow Loong is so hard to beat. I could've prolly been done with chapter 4, but im hellbent on beating this dude
He even punishes u with a high damage move if you successfully counter him with Rock Solid
The main thing I learned is that you do not get close to him, ever. If you keep your distance, he wont attack and you will be able to charge Thrust Stance with 3 focus points (this is key because it's the only stance that covers the distance needed for Loong not to be aggresive) and hit him once without doing anything but charging your focus. Once you hit him, just wait till he does his charge attack -it wont take long, so don't start charging again because he will get you- dodge whatever combo (he usually uses the same one over and over again) he does and then make sure you are at a good distance again. He wont do a thing but slowly walk towards you, which gives you time to charge Thrust Stance fully and hit him "for free" again. You can do this over and over until he goes nuts, goes up in the air and does the series of charge attacks towards you, if you can't get a hold of those attacks and safely dodge, use Cloud Step.
I started the fight throwing everything I had at him so I could get him to 65-50% of his life bar. Then it was just a game of patience doing the stuff I wrote in the first paragraph until I could get my spells and transformations back (with a mirage pill).
And I was wrong about the best transformation for him, it's not Yin Tiger, it's the Red Tides wolf you get in Chapter 1. He staggers the hell out of Yellow Loong and it's the perfect match for when you let your clones loose (I maxed out Pluck of Many, btw).
