In the past we at least recognized to some degree, as a community, who was in opposition to us. Segregation itself forced us to rely on each other more. Black men on black woman. black woman on black man. brother to brother & sister to sister.

We're about to have a generation of men raised to be "soft" on these issues...saying they're "not into politics" and silly shyt like that. Lacking history. And then inevitably wondering what the fukk is going on around them.

It's going to get even worse when this Baby Boomer wealth transfer happens and suddenly all these black kids who think the world is fair...that their in it together with their white friends and all that...look around and suddenly find those friends pole vaulting past them economically. To tell you the truth, if you need to legally enforce Segregation for black people to even cooperate and tolerate one another, that is a whole another beast that we need to address: no law should/shouldn't tell us when to truly love one another. If a law has to tell me to be forced to associate with another black person, then that self-hate must be deep(er) than white supremacy itself. Yeah, as in, you can hate CACs and white supremacy, while you distrust other blacks and refuse to support black owned businesses at the same time. That is regressive as fukk.

I think we try to be blind to this fact but we’re inherently no different than our African brothers and sisters. We’re very tribal and our different tribes don’t really fukk with each other. We had the harsh conditions of slavery and Jim Crow that unified us but absent of those conditions we are a very fractured group. Similar to America becoming unified under the threat posed around 9/11 when otherwise America is anything but.

And our tribes have such widely differing morals, beliefs, aspirations, and values for us to ever willingly come together.

It’s a reality that folks are not ready to acknowledge.

You can argue the selfish part. If no one is dependent on you, then it’s not necessarily an act of selfishness. But if you are swallowing a gun barrel or tying your own noose at the smallest signs of adversity it’s absolutely weak. People get coddled and the first time the world smacks em in the face with reality they seek to end things? Young folks are weaker now than ever before. Imagine if folks in the 40s/50s/60s etc that faced real adversity from birth and still had the heart and pride to fight for their rights had modern day self esteem.
