what'd you use? i had a period where i stopped using deodorants with aluminum chloride, but the must was real :wow:

LMAO...yea shyt was critical for me too for about 3-4 weeks while my pits detoxed the funk. You just have to be patient enough to let it get back to a normal armpit ph and to also let the lymph nodes purge....stinky for sure lol but its a small price to pay once you're out of the funk zone.....Lucky for me i'm mad creative with it and have been working on my brand for awhile so i used my natural body powder to help pick up the slack at first

....my deodorant is proprietary blend of purified water, mineral salts, aloe vera gel/liquid, chamomile hydrosol, sea kelp bioferment, organic extracts of ginger root and green tea, and essential oils of tea tree and neem. this will be for sale in my shop when i launch in a few weeks

im bout to back the fukk up out this thread tho...ya'll blow the shyt outta me with all this weird judgement on how others should wear their crowns. It's offensive to say the least to assume that weave wearing black women hate themselves or that we don't know how to properly care for our tresses. It's another level of generalities that i choose not to play in because everyone is unique in their hair journey and that needs to be respected.

...what do i know tho :rudy:

there's that word again :leostare: why is growing natural hair a journey?

so y'all arent self hating for wearing weave, but we're self hating for supposedly preferring weave. it's really strange how that works. :patrice:

the answer is simple, we dont manipulate our hair the same way women do. when BM grow our hair, we usually stick with 3-4 styles. afro, cornrows, dreads, pony tail. that's why yall kill me with the protective styling stuff.
Yeah but like i said, yall are not doing your own hair either. At least not the ones that i know. Even the ones with dreads have some one to retwist it for them. Most of the girls i know do it theirselves . Im not tryna make excuses tho. I dont think anyone can take care of my hair the way that i do, especially now that its natural and fragile as hell. So even if it takes all day(and it has) i do my own hair. I dont do none of that crazy stuff tho. Braids, buns and african threading is my thing. Plus i wear alot of wraps and beanies. Simple stuff. I have way to much hair. Every one thinks my hair is so thick but really its a bunch of fine stands densely packed on a big ass head lol

not even gonna fake with you here...so yes, you kinda need to feel the funk flow (word to immature). but thats not saying you have to detox the pits then use the new natural stuff....my routine was to shower regularly and use a combo of rubbing alcohol, white vinegar, and peroxide in a spray bottle while in the shower to deep cleanse the pits. I also use castille soap to eliminate weird soap chemicals too...then when you're dry you use the natural deodorant...and also can treat for wetness and any funk using a natural body powder ...the trick is to keep mentally strong and not go back to the chemical crack just because you smell yourself....sweat is good for us too so don't be weird about being a bit more sweatier either

you can doo it!

and thanx xoxo i hope to honor all my potential customers with quality goods that work for me and my own family

it doesn't matter who does your hair, what matters is how its done. a woman suffering from traction alopecia can still do someones hair. black men who are determined to grow their hair out usually succeed because we stick to a handful of styles that are conducive to hair growth.

Its just hair. I prefer bald/cropped look Goapele/Badu look. If a chick needs weave or wild natural hair to be attractive than she is not. Can tell if the features are symmetrical like small ears instead of incestly big lobes, misshaped heads, short necks, no jawlines/cheekbones or wonky eyes....nothing more disturbing than a cock eyed hid with a twist-out bang or italian yaki track.

Hair holds energy and often odor. When Egyptians went through purification and spiritual growth they shaved their heads which is why wigs are found in many tombs.

Same with makeup. Naturals can be the worst chemical free hair but caked up Nars and Mac eye makeup. And if you need foundation, kill yourself for not eating properly, drinking water and taking care of your skin.

See don't do that...lol i didn't type anything specifying a natural hair journey at all. During the course of our lives people's hair and style change ALOT. That is the context I was speaking in because life is a journey that includes styling our hair. I'm far from self hating dear...and to lump me into a group of people who are suffering with that on the daily is a mean slap in the face...not only to me but to them. We all don't awaken at the same time but I've paid my dues and worked hard to be the woman I am today and that includes having to shake off this weird ass plane of existence that as a black woman i can't look the way that makes me feel comfortable and confident in the world without being seriously and negatively labeled. Later for that. I'm not here to cape up for anyone other than myself though....I don't care about what someone else cares about....i find that it makes it much easier to live and breath peace that way. If you love weave or if you love naturals....I support you. I just don't like when it's all the versus competitions of which is better because variety is truly the spice of life and i like to interact with folks who leave it at that.

It doesnt matter to you. We're women we want our hair to look a certain way. We want to be attractive and we dont want to be boring. We want to be able to have fun with out hair and switch it up. Some of us can still do that and grow our hair. Its all about how you take care of it. The most important thing is making sure your hair has adequate moisture and finding a routine that works for you. I can do all sorts of shyt to my hair if i want, im lazy tho and prefer simplicity so i dont. These girls on youtube that have longs ass natural hair didnt stick to just 2 hairstyles yet their hair are super long and healthy. You just have to know what to do.!

Wait, so you think that weaves or big natural hair means that a woman isn't attractive? Also, you think that skin issues don't exist for people who eat properly, drink water, and take care of their skin?

Just trying to understand

Man i dnt even look at a chick the same when i see that nasy ass yacky on her head :deargod: how can u proudly wlk around with sum foreign bytch hair in yo head :deargod: most weave wearers dnt even keep they shyt lookin nice or whateva due to financial issues. Not only does it look dumb the psychological affects it causes is tremendous, lil black girls are taught to hate their "nappy" hair and instead put all this unecessary stuff in they head causing damage. The have no actual role models when it comes to natural beauty; lets not even get into the fact foreign companies are making money of bw's insecurities. Natural bw please chime in too.

Just date sisters who like to rock their hair natural and stop worrying about the ones who don't. Problem solved.
