I am a feminist (as in I advocate for women's rights and equality) however there are things that I've learned from listening to the male posters on this site who hate feminists.

His point didn't need to be refuted, hence me labelling it idiotic. However there were other posters refuting his point about black women having privilege via the welfare system. It's an idiotic point simply because everyone is entitled to welfare. To be honest, it actually sounded like some white supremacy rhetoric labelling black women as "welfare mongers". And to call it a privilege black women have is quiet simply a joke.

The #newblack attacks black men for not "stepping up" even though dominant society systematically oppresses black people, particularly black men.
The #newblack adopts a victim mentality and then accuses black men of adopting a victim mentality when black men are merely pointing out how the system targets black men.
The #newblack claims that she is strong and independent and that she handles her business despite the fact that she lives off of government assistance and is backed by a favorable family court system that is not available to black men.
The #newblack can afford to claim that she is a woman, regardless of her race, and claim entitlements.

That is not true.
Single black men with children do not get custody of their children most of the time, let alone welfare.
Single black women with children will likely receive custody of their children and receive government assistance.
Hence, welfare is not available to black men like it is to black women. This point has been proven statistically in this thread already.
So again, how was his point idiotic?
The reasons men in general don't get custody most often is that they either don't want it or are unequipped to provide a better home for the child than the mother. There is some bias in the system, but the majority of cases are decided empirically based on those. And in the case of Black women specifically, they tend to be better educated, etc, than Black men, again making them better suited for parenting.
