you talking about TRAFFIC LIGHT tickets most likely. those go out in the mail if you're caught on cam breaking it. a police officer making a stop has to get a SIGNED copy of the citation from you or it's like the stop (with intent to issue you a ticket and NOT A WARNING) never happen. it would be your word against his. THINK PEOPLE.

To stress the window being ALL the way down was a control play, when really it just had to be down enough for her to sign.

his use of force was a response to her refusing to step out of the car after being detained and possibly after she rolled up the window on his hand. Once he told her she was being detained, there was no going back.

what i'm saying is, assuming he couldn't send it by mail (i don't think that's part of their procedure), what else could he have done besides detaining her once he told her to roll down the window for his own safety and she refused after he tried multiple times to explain why she had to roll down the window, and answered all her questions?

Well, apparently he needed a signature in this case, so for starters he could have asked for one, otherwise he did what he had to do

he did tell her he needed her to sign it which is why he needed her to roll it all he way down since he didnt feel safe handing it to her through that small opening. he explained all that to her.

You have the right to keep your window slightly up except the cop gave her a lawful command. she refused to roll down the window. at that point she was informed that she was being detained and according to the law, she had to step out the car when the cop asked her to at that point. Now if you want to say fukk the law, that's another discussion. but if you're talking about "knowing your rights", she was in the wrong the minute she refused to step out the car when the cop told her she was being detained (and possibly when she was ordered to roll down the window).

Now if she was trying to do some civil disobedience, cool, whatever (although i think the cop was actually acting in good faith). but if your arguing law, she was clearly wrong.

Hasn't she heard of flirting? My mum once got done for speeding (35 in a 30 zone) while I was in the car, cops pulled her over, and I seriously didn't know my mother had it in her, embarrassing as fukk, but my mum was let go . If that cop had approached the car, and my mother was being silly with the window or refused to get out of the car, acted all arsey, he would have thrown the book at her. Women have a big advantage over men in these situations, because most cops are men and men tend to be sluts and love any attention off a woman, anything quite minor which you were caught bang to rights for , it's worth trying showing a bit of leg and fluttering the eye lashes. It works in court as well in front of a male judge in particular.

She should have used her head, she was in the wrong, and she got an attitude, She's as thick as shyt.

laugh all you want but i just hope you keep this post in mind in case you have to deal with cops one day. it might save your life. again, 95% of the times i think cops are abusive and should be checked for their behavior. I have many problems with police as an institution and with a lot of their practices. this is the other 5%. she was just wrong (and dumb)

This honestly just lends more credence to the idea that the officer had no reason to fear for his safety and that he was just trying to flex his power on her when she wised up to the law.

Once he told her she was being detained, she should have complied. But before then the officer was wrong. Also, her driver's window was not tinted and it is very easy to see into the car.

Yes, her registration was expired and yes she did have an attitude, but last time I checked even murderer on death row have rights so all of that is really a non-issue/strawman.

She didn't 'wise up' to the law, though. She was DEAD-ASS wrong from jump then started acting suspicious after he came back with the ticket. Acting suspicious @ a routine traffic stop gives the officer more than enough reason to act in the manner he did. By 'suspicious' I mean she was very cooperative at first, then, for some inexplicable reason, she decided it was a good idea to act like an imbecile. The officer had no idea why, thus, his 'fear' was justified.​
