My friend got a ticket in the mail.:manny: I'm sure more than one state practices this.
If you think braking her window was the BEST solution in this scenario then thats you.

She is stupid...should have just listened and try to charm the cop to write a warning for her. Lets be honest brehs MOST black women lack charm. It almost seem like she was trying to make it racial issue when it wasn't.

What is it with you guys and race? I never once heard her mention anything about her race, granted I didn't watch the 21 minute video but still... Seemed to me like she watched one too many of those "am I being detained" youtube videos, without really understanding.

He already had her info, he could have mailed her the ticket. It was pointless to shatter her window. That was just his ego reacting. Cops get away with too much. Being the higher authority figure, they really need to be held to that standard instead of the they can do no wrong policy.

he broke the window after she was informed she was being detained, refused to step out of the car and rolled up the window on his hand.

Yes, detaining her just escalated the situation, and I know she was obligated to follow directions at that point, but did it have to go there is my point. The cop focused all of the drama on having the window ALL the way rolled down instead of just asking her to sign the ticket. When I look at the vid all I see is a battle for control, and imo the cop could have handled it better.

he explained he needed her to sign somehing and asked her to roll down the window. when she asked why, he said for his safety. she refused. at that point what was his other option beside detaining her? can they send the "citation" by mail? (honestly, i don't even know what a citation is)

Idk. He had her license plate, I.D and face on camera and the only way to respond was with force over getting a ticket signed?! My friend got a ticket in the mail and he didn't sign anything beforehand, so I know there is more than one way to serve a ticket without a signature. Idk the details of that but I know it can be done. The cop was clearly irritated with her and it comes across as if the aggressive use of force by the cop was him reacting to her confrontational attitude. In the report/article posted the cop lied and said that he reached in her car to unlock the door when she rolled the window up on his arm and he reach back and broke the window in the process.....the video clearly shows him grabbing the window with both hands with the intention of breaking it. Civilians have attitudes everyday and cops should be used to it, and as the higher authority he could have handled it better.

you talking about TRAFFIC LIGHT tickets most likely. those go out in the mail if you're caught on cam breaking it. a police officer making a stop has to get a SIGNED copy of the citation from you or it's like the stop (with intent to issue you a ticket and NOT A WARNING) never happen. it would be your word against his. THINK PEOPLE. :comeon:

yeah, that's what i'm thinking too. never heard of a cop sending a ticket by mail after he stopped the driver himself. I don't think that's normal procedure.

it's not ...some extra long reaching going on in here to justify this chicks behavior and paint the cop as the bad guy in this situtation.

his use of force was a response to her refusing to step out of the car after being detained and possibly after she rolled up the window on his hand. Once he told her she was being detained, there was no going back.

what i'm saying is, assuming he couldn't send it by mail (i don't think that's part of their procedure), what else could he have done besides detaining her once he told her to roll down the window for his own safety and she refused after he tried multiple times to explain why she had to roll down the window, and answered all her questions?
