Even if they do, they delude themselves into pushing the white man into unfairly putting them into a situation when they know we're pretty much at the mercy of them. It's a right and wrong way to go about this type of shyt. You gotta be smart about it man, even if you're frustrated or angry, don't let it get the best of you and say shyt you'll regret later. Just breathe in and out and keep try to keep calm and collected. There was literally no reason for her to go about it this way.
even tho we don't see eye to eye on EVERYTHING....you are quickly becoming one of my fav female posters.

Where were all of you with this vitriol when the video of the white guy being asked to roll his window down and basically telling the cop to go fukk himself was making the rounds on here? :heh: Nothing is different in these incidents besides the complexion of the individuals involved, but often times that's all it takes to get some of you to lose your minds. This girl was too dark to pull it off, but legally, you don't have to roll your window all the way down. Could she have done so and avoided damaging this guys ego therefore saving herself the headache? Probably so, but she did nothing against the law before she refused to exit the vehicle after being informed she was being detained. The name calling and hate in here is hilariously ironic considering a lot of you probably :leon: 'd and :smugfavre: 'd when white daddy pulled the same stunt(that was well within his rights.)

Truer words have never been spoken.

Failure to comply.

My dad's a retired police officer. I'm pretty cognizant of my rights. I'm also VERY cognizant of the fact that as a 'Black' person, my ultimate goal is to spend as little time with the police as possible and avoid jail.

We'd be home or where we were going in 15-20 minutes while your ass would be mad sitting in a holding cell waiting to get bailed out for HOURS/DAYS.
I used to have hustlemanias line of thought too but been thrown in the cells for bullshyt 1 too many times and got sick of that shyt. At the end of the day a dikkhead pig can throw you inside for absolutely nothing and it's on you to fight it in court. Missing work/school just to clear your name and for what? Even when it get's thrown out that cop probably doesn't even know you exist and can just go on about his day.
Best just to cooperate and let the popo be on their way.
Only time to flex your rights is when you know you ridin dirty and they tryna search your ass or sumshyt.

Sidenote: Just going by what I've seen in the video this officer was reasonable as fukk compared to some of the dikkheads I had to deal with :bryan:

She was able to reach out her hand to receive the ticket, and she was clearly willing to accept it. He escalated the situation because she didn't follow an order that she was not legally required to follow.
Even if he's in the wrong what did she gain out of this experience other than lawyer fees?:troll:
Some battles ain't worth fighting. IF he was being a dikkhead a lot of us would probably be on her side but he was being pretty reasonable and I'm far from being a fan of the popo but even I can see when a cop is just tryna do his job. Following those youtube know your right vids ain't gonna do shyt but make a cop more suspicious or edgy of you.

I've seen videos on youtube where cops have acted far worse and they get let off or at the worst a paid vacation (suspended with pay).

You have to ask HER, what SHE gained out the situation because I'm not her and I can't answer that for her. However, a lesson I hoped she learned is that if you are going to assert your rights and a cops becomes upset and wants to escalate the situation, follow his directions AFTER he states you are being detained. Had she gotten out the car (which I thought she should have), she would have had a very good solid complaint. He only detained her because she wouldn't roll the window down further; however, it was already low enough for them to conduct the transaction.

Based on your above post, you've been in trouble with the law before. I understand that you want to simply lead a peaceful life now so you probably aren't willing to fight any battles (even if they ARE worth fighting). However, for those who have always been on the straight and narrow, sometimes you ARE willing to fight for your rights. Nothing will change if we ALL roll over like dogs.
