we're in quarantine so I'll definitely waste my time with the new season

but the dialogue sounds like it's written from a coli breh with these references

it's like every 2 sentences can they just talk natural :mjtf:

no one fukks with the show anymore?

It's kind of stale now :manny:

I think most brehs and brehettes that are still watching are doing so b/c we've come along for the ride this long, and the quality hasn't dipped to Dexter S8 or GOT S8 levels which is enough for most of us to continue to pay it some attention.

That being said, the show is obviously stuck in neutral. They've bought us around full circle but then shyt clearly doesn't hit the same as when it was fresh the 1st couple of seasons.

Inner office politics with Taylor (who should be boss's up by now but they nerfed "them") or Dollar Bill? Meh. Axe going from larger than life financial schemes to merely wanting to destroy anybody who even looks at him wrong, MJ style? Meh. Chuck's power struggle with his dad? Who cares anymore. And when they could do something with Wendy's character as she appeared to break new ground this season? What do they do? Bring her right back into the fold of fukkery with Chuck and Chuck. And as much as I like Sacker and her character getting more shine, even whatever she and Chuck got going on ain't hitting. Who even cares about whatever storyline is going on with the Manhattan DA at this point?

They need to either dig their heels in deep and designate shyt as a "Last Dance" and have the writers go all out or they need to flip shyt, get some new blood in the door.

nah they need bigger villains than Chuck vs Axe. I mean all of Chuck's problem are of his own making but he blames Axe for no reason. The hurt the man will go through when Axe actually fukks Wendy :banderas:

Last weeks episode, making a strained "Godfather" reference:

-I'm no band leader.
-Last guy who said that lost his prized equine.

the show was built around Axe vs Chuck with subplots.

I think they covered so much in the first 4 seasons that it’s going to be hard to top anything they’ve done going forward.

As someone who struggled to make it through even two seasons of this show, I don’t see how it made it to 5 other than showtime being showtime
for some reason I HATE this show lol even though I can consume shows (Succession etc) just like it easy. Its just so forced and contrived everything about it , characters, dialogue.

I think a lot of people like the Entourage-style Lifestyle Porn. Like, "I wish I could call up a hot chef and have him personally cook a meal for me" or "I wish I could go to a hot artist and buy up all their paintings", or "I wish I could go backstage at a Metallica show or whatever" or, at a lower level "Peter Luger!!...I ate there myself! I'm cool like Chuck!"
Some of that stuff is kind of fun.

I think, for me, the big problem is that the show is too in love with its characters, and thinks they're so superior. The writers really believe that Axe has a supernatural gift for making money, Taylor has a supernatural gift for numbers, Wendy has a supernatural gift for psychology, Chuck has a supernatural gift for political scheming, etc. That didn't really start to bother me until I started watching Succession.

ya I’m out...I don’t want to be that dude who only sticks around to bash a show week after week...I have a feeling this season gonna be lackluster up until the last 2 eps which will be good enough to hook viewers into next season smh

After watching how realistic Succession is, I can't take this seriously. This show suffers from Sorkin's influence on several levels. The writers really believe in the bullshyt narratives you find among finance bros. In contrast, Succession shows how fragile, stupid, insecure and often uncultured the elite really are.
