Its like talking to wall with you. All your going to see is that Jordan bytched up when he spoke up about those dudes trying to take him out. What you need to realize is that any player would have did the same thing playing under those circumstances. How would have you responded? Take your beatings and get punked year in and year out to keep it real? Based on your alias, you seem like a Knicks fan so I know your salty as well.
All im going to see? I saw what he did. I also saw the Pistons play a good brand of basketball. I also saw MJ take them to 7 games prior to bytching and Pippen getting over his headache. He didnt need to do that but he bytched out.

So trying to physically harm him to beat him is a legit game-plan now? Some of you guys are really exposing your agenda. The media did not create or make it a catchy name. That Pistons team birthed that name and those tactics to destroy Mike.
This is a deflection
The Pistons did what every team does. They try to exploit an opponent's weakness.

In the Bulls case, it was their lack of depth.

What are you even arguing now?

U watched compilations of fouls and overdramatized clips not actual games. The Pistons were dirty but it’s made to seem like MJ couldn’t do shyt without getting shanked. :mjlol:

The Celtics would foul LeBron hard he would routinely get 10+ FTA and would be walled off in a zone seeing not just multiple double and triple teams but roaming help defenders or what would be illegal defenses in Mike’s era.

The Celtics teams LeBron beat in ‘11 and ‘12 were better than the ‘91 Pistons that MJ beat. Isiah Thomas wrist injury in ‘91 ended his prime he was washed at that point. The Celtics defenses were better than the Pistons defenses and it was a different, lower paced era than that late 80’s era.

i hate arguing with dudes who watch compilation videos. They arent watching the 12 hours worth of full games we watched in real time.
It be tne same dudes who think every 90s NBA game was a street fight.

Bron fans love to lie alot. Celtics never committed to a double team unless Bron showed that he was committed to driving to the basket. Go watch the footage. Pierce or Posey would guard Bron one on one. Garnett, Perkins, P.J. Brown, and etc played shadow, but would only commit if Bron showed the drive. Bron got his calls, but know body was out there trying to harm him. On some possessions they even gave him open shots because they knew his jumper was shaky. They were only worried about him getting to rim because he is elite in that category. Pistons had to worry about MJ's eltie midrange and drive game, which is why the Pistons were alot more handsy and physical with him. I don't know what you were seeing in that Bron and Celtics series, but you were off. I have watched that series over alot of times. They never respected Bron's jumper and played off of him sometimes to not give him path to the rim. Kobe was the only player seeing that defense you mentioned by the Celtics in the 08 Finals. They literally threw everything at him because of his vast skillset offensively. I can agree with you that the Celtics defense was better than the Pistons because they actually had a game plan to stop opponents legitimately, and not by assaulting them.

I watched alot of those games. They played and beat him, but they used alot of those tactics and cheap shots alot on him and the Bulls consistently when they beat them those four times.

This is THE example of that too. Every single one of the guys that posts that shyt is under 40 and wasn't seeing none of that in real time. Pistons would foul a lot but those reckless fouls didn't even happen once a game, they talk like that was an everyday occurrence. They ain't even ever seen a normal regular season game from that era beginning to end, they just watch NBA classics and assume every game went that way.

Yeah nikka and LeBron drives to the basket a lot :heh:

LeBron in triple threat 20 feet from the basket is too good of a passer and too willing to double and triple team. I was talking about his drives. LeBron typically saw multiple Celtics jerseys off his dribble drives and got fouled a lot in the paint some harder than others and always had shadowing defenders focusing on him.

Celtics defenses were better than Pistons defenses and LeBron played in an era with defenses more conducive to shutting down great individual scorers.

I’ve watched a lot of those Bulls and Pistons games not overdramatized highlight clips and foul compilations. A lot of y’all weren’t old enough to watch and dissect basketball games from 1988 the cap must stop.

Look at this you don’t see none of that. MJ goes to work one-on-one, walks into threes and midrange jumpers, gets to his spots in the midrange, slashes with no real shot blocker in the paint, dude has 6’2 Vinnie Johnson on him in several plays, you double him it’s a three for Hodges or midrange for Grant...

U can’t sit here and tell me the defense in that video is matching the quality of halfcourt and transition defense in this video. U can’t tell me he’s seeing as many jerseys even the fouls are more physical...

Exactly. It was one or two hard fouls at most. These dudes stay overblowing shyt. They weren’t watching.
The Pistons played some good basketball. Laimbeer being a stretch 5 was so unique and modern day NBA. They understood spacing and played good offense. The Bulls had to deal with more than one tough foul on Michael.

These two videos exposed your ability to breakdown how the defenses were playing these two. Celtics never committed to Bron until he showed that he was committed to driving. I saw multiple white Pistons jerseys committing to attempt to double Mike on the three point line or the perimeter. They were not leaving Vinnie Johnson on a island to guard Mike. You saw a commitment to be around him on the perimeter and around the basket. Guys were not helping Pierce until Bron showed that he was committed to driving, They did not respect Bron's jumper at all in this series or the 08 ECF series. Please watch these videos again man because your detail is off. Find better footage to make your point valid. Did you remember how the Mavs and Spurs literally disrespected Bron by giving him the Rondo treatment. Please stop.

I disagree. U would never guard LeBron how you guard Mike and you would never guard Mike the way you do LeBron. Two different players with different strengths and weaknesses. Still I found the set halfcourt defense to be better, more effort on transition defense, better rim protection from the Celtics, and the fouls were harder compared to the Jordan game I posted. It’s no point in comparing though the point was that too much is made of the physicality of the defense if you watch the games. The Pistons have been relegated to being known for just that and it’s sad.

It’s also bullshyt to act like 80’s and early 90’s defenses are up to par with what LeBron and Kobe would deal with later on and what Michael himself would deal with in the second 3-Peat and Wizards years.

Like I said, you have an agenda to prove your points right. The only thing to me that stands out in that Celtics video to me is their commitment to not letting Bron have easy drives to the rim or even on some transition points. The Pistons made more of commitment to be around Mike at the three point line and mid range because they knew he had the mid range. You saw the white jerseys converge on Mike immediately once he committed to the drive as well. There was more effort put defense from the Pistons because of his ability to shoot the mid range and post. You only see the Celtics truly commit to stop Lebron in that vid when he attempts to drive because of his limited skill set offensively at the time on the perimeter.
