They ran it on every team, but they went a little more extra for Mike. Its literally why they made their own rules for him called the Jordan Rules. What other player in the league did they do that for?

Who cares? They won and he bytched. Doesn't make you dudes any less hypocritical celebrating Mike's assholishness but whining about the Pistons.

Dude went crying to the commissioner and the game changed.

You’re referencing things I can tell you weren’t around to see. What is “The Jordan Rules” in relation to your argument?

Tread lightly

I've never met a smart MJ stan, it's clear I won't meet one today either. Thecoli is literally littered with idiot MJ stans. Please tell me why do MJ have the most idiotic stanbase in the history of sports? Logic? None. Common Sense? Never. Intelligence? Horrendous. Facts? Only the ones that prop up MJ. Come on, are you losers that damn stupid?

People can genuinely have a difference of opinion. Like im a Bron fan and i have him 3rd all time behind MJ and Kareem. People gonna use whatever narrative to fit their position on this. MJ stans gonna use 6 for 6 with 6 finals mvps and Bron stans gonna use top 3 in scoring and top 10 in assists all time. Both all time great players, no need to shyt on 1 to prop the other up. Enjoyed watching MJ greatness while he played and enjoy watching Bron now. People be literally putting all they energy on hating on a all time great to argue for another great player. i use to entertain that shyt with the Kobe Bron stan wars every now and then, shyt was just stupid looking back on it. :mindblown:

The irony of course being that these guys respect each other so much. Some are legit freinds. I remember during the height of the MJ/Kobe wars on :hamster: someone said something that stuck with me. They basically said "Kobe would smack the fukk out of you if you talked about MJ like that in front of him". It was a :ohhh: moment. People get so caught up in riding for this guy or riding for that guy, it becomes a part of your identity, that you can legitimately lose touch with reality. As a recovered Jordan stan, I can say that shyt can get out of control if you let it. I never allowed myself to ignore or twist reality but its so easy to cross those lines when you align yourself with a stranger, or more so the ideal that they represent and you lack your own identity or real life guidance or purpose. That's the issue for a lot of people, they view players as ideals, institutions, outlets for their own issues...not human beings. That's not me putting them down either, just acknowledging the reality. It's not something to be mocked or attacked. Some cats are really out here going through it. The KD burner shyt was my first wake up call that made me have to take a step back and re-assess how I was interacting with people. Kobe's death made me that much more determined to cut the bullshyt out. We can like who we wanna like and talk shyt and joke and have debates but all that extra shyt is unnecessary and frankly unhealthy.

I don't see how u can use individual stats. personally, I can't separate a baller from the team, even in individual sports cause they still have a team. if Jordan doesn't have the right pieces, he's simply not the greatest.

I believe things out of the control of the individual contribute to them being the greatest.

I don't have popular opinions. like I don't put an asterisk on kd's rings. ppl who never pushed their bodies to the limit don't appreciate what players go thru playing into June.

if u come away from that as a champion, I respect it. I can now only compare u to other champions. kd cannot lead a team by himself, and he also cannot beat bron without doing what he did up to this point in his career. I think this is clear as day and I respect kd for being honest with himself.

I never forget when a nikka beats me in a game of hoops. if there's a gap in skill or teams, I acknowledge that. it doesn't have to be that way forever, but deal with the moment.

something such as egos being put aside and ppl teaming up could have put a dent in MJ's legacy, but it didn't.

ppl learned from Jordan's era, and the future generation adjusted. can't blame Jordan because greatness didn't adjust with this new mindset.

why didn't reggie go to the Knicks? other ppl are to blame as to why one person ends up being the greatest.

kd made a decision to make sure bron couldn't get close to Jordan. I understand why ppl hate him for it, but again, I respect him for doing what he felt he had to do.

to this day, kd's name would be closer to Melo's if he didn't get ringed up.

Interesting perspective. How do you reconcile allowing things beyond an individuals control to impact their individual greatness? I know you said you have a hard time seperating the individual. So does the mean you don't really get into individual player rankings or greatness. If so, how do you seperate indiviudal ability/impact from team accomplishments?

I dont even know where to start....just from a visual perspective..aesthetically..Lebron is nowhere near MJ...like......MJ was out here killin nikkas from midrange, (post)fadeaways, up and unders, acrobatic layups, clutch jumpshots, random catch n shoot makes standing or off the curl, supreme footwork and control, while shooting 50% or better and on the other end locking up defensively, clutch steals and blocks.....and be doing all of that shyt in the same game....basically his whole prime career really....only nikka to do that on a lesser scale from a highlight perspective was Wade...
LeBron has done all this shyt at 6’8 260 and aesthetically LeBron particularly first stint in Cleveland is the most fast powerful talented aesthetic player I’ve seen and LeBron has done it in a tougher era and played against zones.

LeBron hits 30 footers, throws no look passes, has dunked from the FT line in game. :heh:

All this talk about superteam is moot. LeBron played in a FA/player movement era. And LeBron did what he had to do. MJ started winning once Pippen and Grant broke out. If it was up to y’all LeBron should have rotted in Cleveland.

Imagine making a compilation of the Celtics defense in ‘08 and ‘10 against LeBron and calling it the “LeBron Rules” :mjlol:

So trying to physically harm him to beat him is a legit game-plan now? Some of you guys are really exposing your agenda. The media did not create or make it a catchy name. That Pistons team birthed that name and those tactics to destroy Mike.

The thing is the Celtics were not trying to rip Bron's head off or take him out of a game. That dude tucked tails and teamed up with Wade and Bosh to finally beat those guys who were older than the Pistons when Jordan beat them.

Its like talking to wall with you. All your going to see is that Jordan bytched up when he spoke up about those dudes trying to take him out. What you need to realize is that any player would have did the same thing playing under those circumstances. How would have you responded? Take your beatings and get punked year in and year out to keep it real? Based on your alias, you seem like a Knicks fan so I know your salty as well.

U watched compilations of fouls and overdramatized clips not actual games. The Pistons were dirty but it’s made to seem like MJ couldn’t do shyt without getting shanked. :mjlol:

The Celtics would foul LeBron hard he would routinely get 10+ FTA and would be walled off in a zone seeing not just multiple double and triple teams but roaming help defenders or what would be illegal defenses in Mike’s era.

The Celtics teams LeBron beat in ‘11 and ‘12 were better than the ‘91 Pistons that MJ beat. Isiah Thomas wrist injury in ‘91 ended his prime he was washed at that point. The Celtics defenses were better than the Pistons defenses and it was a different, lower paced era than that late 80’s era.
