This race was annoying, because people would say I look like De Blazio's kid, especially since I'm froing. :beli:

But Blazio won't really do nothing, NY is done, SI(peep the plans to build a Ferris Wheel and mall by the stadium) and South Bronx are the final frontiers. If you don't own your home, it may get rough for you.

Everybody is being pushed to the bx and east new york and the ville. A lot of people are just leaving for the PA our the south. shyt is a damn shame.

it is a damn shame because you have 3 options.

-move to a super shytty area in the city and fvcking deal with it
-move outta state to the south or something and get a jump start on reviving slavery
-get your paper up in a MAJOR way (i'm talking 100K + a year), be strategic about your spending habits and then buy a place

the new mayor can't fix shyt for you because NO ONE can undo the deals Bloomberg allowed over the past decade+

you gotta be in survival mode in NY and/or have a solid ass team around you and create some kind of coc00n that cant be penetrated. it starts with owning some damn property. doesnt have to be a fukking house (which would be nice) but try to buy before the shyt falls apart for good.

i'm here in the city and weighing everything. i just moved to a crib in the BX and while its not ideal for my current tastes, I'm in battle mode where i'm trying to buy in the next year or 2 years MAX. fukk that renting shyt forever and ever.

Definitely only move out of the city as a last resort... If you can finally make it it will all pay off. The type of networking that you can do in nyc is unparalleled ( can only be outdone by the internet).

I left to miami (not my first time living here) for a business opportunity, a really good one, that didn't pan out. I regret it because the job economy is straight up shyt and the pay is shyt.

I could've created my own opportunities easily up there and I might go back only do miami 3- months out of the year. Miami is for those who are already established. Right now I'm working on revitalizing everything. The bx is fine, not my first choice but you got a roof over your head and that's all you really need. As long s the overhead is low and you're grinding you'll be seeing 6 figures soon as long as you're not complacent. I've seen six figures out there quite a few times but didn't have the maturity, work ethic, and money sense to keep it.

yeah, the networking here in NY is on another level if you actually put yourself out there. I can be hard to do sometimes if you have a busy schedule but you literally have to put yourself in places to network and then filter out the BS (which theres a lot of)

I'm keeping overhead as low as I can while trying to save. i stayed with family for about 4 months, not because i had to but to help them out, but it just wasnt for me. My sister just had a baby and i needed room to breathe. The upside was the obviously built-in infrastructure but its hard to be on your grown man ish with a bunch of family around. The BX is cool, but the extreme ratchet shyt sometimes is a pain in the ass. I went to vote yesterday and this sista was up in there raising hell because SHE didnt know her fukking district to vote in. Crazy. bytch was yelling at the person at the table trying to help her.

and its also just disheartening seeing my people LOSE at such an irreversible pace. For me (at this point) its hard seeing able bodied people not going to work, chilling all day, appearing high/drunk and just talking about nothing. thats not the overall picture for the community but things could be sooooooooo much better if everyone was on some unity shyt (not fukkin happening) and built the hood up.

i really get the sense the people are OBLIVIOUS to the fact that they down own anything with equity and are at the mercy of property owners who kinda/sorta care, police that look down on them as animals and more affluent residents in the city that look upon them with the automatic  face.

damn brehs, we are DOOMED. those of us in the talented tenth (not saying i'm in the tenth) arent enough to save us.

unless you can tap dance well for these CACs, shyt is bleak

Yeah the Bx is the most ratchet boro... BK might be the most violent but it's definitely not the most ratchet. The bx is set to get even more ratchet as it's flooded with all the people who can't afford shyt in the city and bk. Queens is most likely intact but half of it is so damn isolated that some people rather not live there, especially the southside.

You just can't be scared to scramble. Don't be scared to work 2-3 jobs for a bit so you can have a surplus of money and then cut down on how much you're working and create a hustle. There are so many lazy fukks in the city but it can't be helped. shyt is a microcosm of the entire world. People will complain that they need help to make it, then once they get the help they don't wanna do shyt. Minorities are losing badly, but they don't have to be. Lots of people are waking up and that's all it takes to create a local economy breh. Some people do so unknowingly, they just know that they dont wanna be broke and want to own their own shyt. Some people just want to create and offer the world things without anyone being able to stop them.

It's funny how people say stop and frisk works. Bloomberg had something better than stop n frisk... and that's the cost of living. It was so high that poor people couldn't even make it and decided to leave and took a lot of struggle and crime with them. Stop n frisk was just insult on top of injury, more discouragement. The gentrification shyt is bullshyt too, fukking horrible. Instead of improving shyt for people that live there you invite others to take their place. A lot of these CAC's live 4-6 people in an apartment, living like shyt how is that any better, bc they're cacs?

And that quality is dependent on the color of ones skin? For the sake of playing devils advocate, do you have any idea what racial makeup of the cast of Basketball Wives is? There are conniving women period, and given the state of black America, building and instilling a pride of self is ideal, and marrying & building within your race does further help in that regard, but it's not and dry, nor should any black man or woman be obligated or shamed into not dating outside of their race.

I'm not sure how the masses continue to eat lies like this up, but it's a crock. Black athletes, actors, musicians, lawyers, doctors, - they all marry within their race more than not, This is a fact. People only notice black men with women of other races because that is who they're focused on being angry about, instead of focusing on the brother who did marry someone his color. No one ever focuses on the KGs and Lebrons. Instead, you're worried about Tiger Woods who is an outlier. It's not really the peoples fault - the media shows them the images of non-black women with their respective husbands, and in turn the people perpetuate this stereotype of succuessful black men marrying or building with white, Asian, or hispanic women.

Again, Blacks aren't unlike any other race as it pertains to marrying within their own people, so why this nonexistent "issue" is consistently used as a talking point is senseless. The bigger issue at hand is blacks as a whole receiving sub-par education, facing discrimination & prejudice in the work place & in the court rooms that goes unchecked, a senseless ongoing gender war, an anti-intellectual culture - which leads to black children having no role models to aspire to be outside of Nikki Minaj, Lebron James, or Lil' Wayne, and children not having a strong family structure due to out-of-wedlock births.

That's the problem, not the miniscule amount of black men who choose to procreate and marry someone of a different color.

OK. I hear, and to be frank you are right here. But here's the thing, perception is different from reality. Most black people in the public eye are married to other blacks, just that the ones in our faces, some of them are married to white women. A very small percent. But this is what people, especially a small amount of black women see, and they are upset. I don't know why, or how it matters, but that's what it looks like. Most post were based off of responding to that perception more then reality. I don't know if that is fair at all but again, that's what the situation looks like.

Yeah. But the cross bronx is also valuable. Major interstate and tons of commerce flowing thru.

Real talk, co-op city is its own isolated thing and unless you have a car (or helicopter) it's a bytch to get out there. And co-op had that "luxury projects" feel to it. Gun Hill is ratchet even tho you have a lot of working class Caribbean families who live in those houses. But it's nothing like Pelham/Pelham Parkway area.

Gun Hill on the come up if you got a car. My cousin just copped a house on Young Ave (she was livin on Mt. Eden by that ratchet park and Bronx Lebanon). Montefiore being that hospital along with Jacobi got a lot of people wanting to escape.

i just moved to the bx to the bedford park region above fordham university. what are ya reviews on that area? :lupe: i lived in harlem my whole life and i only ever hung out in the bx but its been a minute.

Bedford is aight be anything close to Fordham Univ (the whole Fordham Road shopping area, Webster Ave) is ratchet and always "hot". Literally noting over there for you except if youre headed to the zoo/Botanical Gardens. If youre near the 4 train/upper portion of the Concourse, you'll be okay)

if youre on the concourse, then youre fine. the kingsbridge and the concourse and north (along the concourse) gets quieter and MUCH tamer. Kingsbridge itself (from any direction) can get wild at times at night but I've always seen cops all over that area. the side stress, like Walton Ave. But if you know how to handle yourself, you should be fine. its not like youre in a war zone or anything.
