I'm right on the edge. Manhattan lifestyle (kinda) with BX prices. Can't beat it. And you're connected to damn near everything (the 1, the BX 7, 9, 10, 20, 32, 1, 2, the A train if you use the bx7, Metro North B, D, 4, TWO hospitals, and if you want you can go to the east or west side of Manhattan no problem because other than the B and 1, everything is express)

I always tell my friends, move out there or Inwood. Lots of housing, prices not as bad as it could be, access to everything, and it's just Irish and Dominicans out here. I make a good living, and I wouldn't leave this neighborhood unless I became a visible figure. I have no desire to go anywhere else, let alone where I grew up

i feel u man i wanted to stay in my hood but it got way too overpriced. columbia university killed us with the eminent domain a couple years back and now they building some kind of shopping center/school buildings about 6 blocks from me which is raising shyt even more. my brother in law trying to move back from the bx to be closer to his mom and the best he can find is a 1 bedroom on riverside for 1500 a month and the shyt has a kitchenette and small bedroom.

My Pops Forever RIP

I've been eating at Arturo's since before I actually moved out there. My sisters went to JFK. Then when I moved out there that's been my go-to spot. The garlic knots they have :ahh:. Try Emilio's sometime. It's the pizzeria on Kingsbridge and Aqueduct. Best pepperoni rolls I've ever had are from there.

I've been living there since none of what you see on 225th existed. Back in the day it was an abandoned building and a Kennedy's. Now it has all that cool shyt (the gym is what I use most)

Bill de Blasio, the presumptive Democratic nominee in the New York mayoral race, was criticized by outgoing Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg for running a “racist” campaign.

  • In a wide-ranging interview with New York Magazine published just before the primary vote, the billionaire businessman and three-time mayor specified that he didn’t think de Blasio (who is white) is racist himself, but that by heavily promoting his black wife, Chirlane McCray, and mixed-race kids in his campaign advertisements and commercials, de Blasio was “making an appeal using his family to gain support.”

Bloomberg added: “I think it’s pretty obvious to anyone watching what he’s been doing. You tailor messages to your audiences and address issues you think your audience cares about.”

Bloomberg likely was annoyed that his unofficial hand-picked successor, City Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn, failed to gain the nomination and possibly also perturbed by the sudden fame of de Blasio’s teenage son Dante (he of the huge afro).

Bloomberg is a clown, though. He just mad because his plutocratic reign is coming to an end.

Of course he was. The city is more than 50% minority. And that's not including the bleeding heart white liberals.

Having a black wife and two mixed children makes him seem more "down" and his handlers know that. I watch VEEP and Scandal too :umad: Don't think they for a moment that his team wasn't doing this on purpose.
