Speaking as somebody not from LA I would guess that’s because a lot more of the bigger blood hoods are in the jects than crips with some exceptions like grape street. 9/10 the jects are gonna be more cutthroat, just how it is.

Inglewood rent to high not only for black residences but for black business owners as that’s been in those areas for years. The Eastside is pretty much all Mexicans, South Park done tore down all the basketball courts and put nothing put soccer fields. In the Jungles they have been reinventing the buildings but rent going up and management are practicing a policy the last couple years. Just a couple weeks I saw cac in flip flops with girlfriend walk they poodle between King and Coliseum.

Then you have USC we’re that Brim interviewing at. That’s heavily policed private security on random street corners; USC armed and unarmed security and LAPD. The Village off of Jefferson and Hoover is just the beginning USC try to turn that area to mini Westwood buying by buying up all the property in the area.

I use to work for the city of New York and everything this dude is saying is true.

Black folks will march on the streets complaining all day but when you go to a local community board meeting in a black community it is literally crickets.



Go to a white area and the community board is practically a live event.

I also want to add that buying a home is only half of what the black community needs to do. He said something about people moving into the homes which means the people who can afford them.

Black folks in the future need to bust their ass in high paying fields like Asians so we can buy properties at ease when gentrification comes.

Asian folks for example are practically gentrification proof.

This culture we have of constantly running away or ignoring these issues when they arent in our radar needs to Change.

Real estate is not a game. There should be no reason why a black person has to move to a less progressive society to avoid housing cost.

Asians reap the benefits of basically whitewashing themselves over generations, and to start with they didn't come here with an equivalent level of restrictions and constraints that African descendants did, so they also reap the benefits of that...

It’s more like 60/40 (living in/not living in PJs) but yeah the percentage is far higher than any other city in CA and probably the country for that matter. The only two neighborhoods where black people tend to live in the market rate housing are Lakeview and Bayview which both have dramatically diminshed black populations compared to 15 years ago.

Lakeview and Bayview black populations was already declining 15 years ago. Lakeview black population been declining since the early to mid 90's because hella middle class black families understandably didn't want to live around all the drug dealing, mobbin and killing that hit a fever pitch in that era. Selling your house for $250k in the 90's to leave one of the worst neighborhoods in the Bay was a no brainer come up. San Francisco will be less than 1% black in 20 years. Are you really surprised? The most liberal city in America is almost completely nikkaless. Most black people in SF live in the jects because the city can tear down the jects whenever they see fit.

The entire Bayview/Hunters Point area is still around 25.8% black, and Lakeview is still 15% black, which are both impressive considering SF as a city is only 5% black...

The problem with SF is there has been a coordinated effort for generations to restrict black people to a handful of specific hoods. That is a racism and discrimination unheard of even in California; one of my grandfathers is from SF and was born in 1942 in SF. We have had some strong convos surrounding black culture in The Bay and how San Francisco is doing it's best to turn into the whitest, most Asian city in America...

Yea mos def I mean at this point Asians have even surpassed whites. It ain’t apples but you need more money to make more boss moves.

While we own the houses we have to be the buyers of these houses as well. Gentrification can’t be avoided so we gotta come at alll angles.
