No, they kind of cancel each other out and if you want points which are more valuable then pair gold and platinum together. You need to take at least 3 flights a year to make it worth it though.
I had the green charge card that I only put Netflix and Hulu on and I had the blue preferred for everyday regular stuff. None of my balances ever reached over $500 and if it did I let it do so to get the free points and paid it immediately off. They just upgraded my green to a gold card. It takes time, if you spend more than a year as a coordinator and your aspiration is to be a recruiter or higher jump ship to companies that will. The market is HOT for Acquisition right now, LinkedIn just ran an article about how hard Recruiting recruiters is right now. Smaller independent firms are where you can cut your teeth at and the pay is good, starts in the $60’s.
