Platinum Brehs there's an airline credit hack
if you need to spend the 200 airline credit you can make united airlines your airline of choice and put 2 $100 payments into united travel bank using your plat card
make sure you're enrolled in the airline credit and if you recently enroll wait 24 hours before doing this
go to united airlines.com click on travel bank and then pay $100 then do another $100 or do $50 4 times
I just did it with $50 to try it out and in 3 days i got the credit:wow:
usually i'm delta gang but since the $200 will disappear next month and start over it doesn't make sense to waste it :yeshrug:

:salute:

So you get to bank the cash for later on United? That means we can stack this for $400 in United cash?

Odd, I get r/amex email alerts so I’m surprised that didn’t show up on my inbox.
There was a guy a few days ago asking what to use his airline credit on and then they suggested it in the comments then there was this post this afternoon

This that shyt I needed, @humminbird where did you find the hack so I can find additional ones?
An additional Delta hack is to split tender where you partially pay with a gift card, existing credit, VDB voucher etc. and partly charged to your card, are processed by Delta as an add/collect and trigger the credit. I got a free RT NY ticket this way since my $50 Delta gift card triggered the $200 airline fee.

Another way is to do the following:
  1. Buy a non-refundable ticket with any combination of gift card/eCredit plus your AMEX, again provided that the residual amount charged to your card is $250 or less
  2. After credit has posted, and at least 48 hours after buying it, cancel it (ensure there's no fee for cancelling it) so you get an updated eCredit for the full ticket amount.
    • alternatively, if you buy a ticket far enough in the future, there is no particular need to cancel the ticket, just change it once you have some new dates or itinerary in mind (you can change origin, destination or both

Flyertalk has a lot of Amex points/credit hacking threads

Next year I'm getting the gold card and bushing my Chase Sapphire preferred. If I would've used the gold card for all I spent on food this year, I'd have a free tropical vacation worth of points :francis:
