Next year I'm getting the gold card and bushing my Chase Sapphire preferred. If I would've used the gold card for all I spent on food this year, I'd have a free tropical vacation worth of points :francis:
sapphire preferred got buffed pretty nice recently, might be worth banking the points off it, getting sapphire reserve for a year and using it to cash them out on point transfer or bookings thru their cxloyalty portal

shyt just the reserve sign up bonus is worth $1200 rn and they don't claw back as aggressively as amex, that's just gravy

Basically broke it down, this card ain’t for broke bois :mjlol:

I mean basically, yeah. Breh really tried to pull broke nikka hustles on AmEx. :mjlol:

Knew soon as he mentioned the $250 annual fee, and the promo he got for waiving the fee, the story was gonna end in them clapping his account with a clawback. :mjlol:

I just use my Gold instead of my debit card, and I'm stacking up a fukkton of points, without having spent a dime on travel yet. These cards really come down to you knowing how beat to use them to maximize point gain and use.

At least one of us in here is. :yeshrug:

Really just comes down to your income, and what your regular life spending looks like. I don't think anyone in here is advocating going out of your way to spend on these cards.
Brehs are clamoring for a card with that as the minimum threshold.

I feel like it's just @Spence and even then, breh isn't out here talking about running it up for no reason, he's just seemingly spending money he was going to spend anyway, but just using an AmEx for the rewards. I don't see an issue with it, since it's really just one of the easiest ways to make your money work for you after you worked for it.

This, I’m literally money laundering through Amex just for points so I don’t spend any money on travel by just spending money that would’ve already been spent on food, groceries, or luxury shyt had I not had a cc cover it. shyts paid off end of every month so it’s just an extra step in front of a debit card type of thing. But yes, I should hit about $80k this year and easily over $100k next year since I got a late April start on the platinum. There was a rumor of a White card to slot between platinum and centurion but Amex scrapped those plans due to the pandemic. I would be all over it though if it became a thing, and depending on how this Venture X card drains Amex user base and the corresponding moves Chase makes to keep their customers they might split off the platinum user base into what the Plat was supposed to be (a strictly luxury card) and probably up the annual fee to $2500ish since centurion is $5k.
