We have a website called escapehouston.com where they post dirt cheap airfare to everywhere. We did Japan for $600, and Europe several times for $450, they have sister websites for a few other cities so check them out and see if they have one for yours as well.

is it that easy to transfer points to delta account from my card, if so I'll probably do that with the points? I just got on amex plat today and haven't made any purchases. Any advice for a newb trying to figure out the points game? I've been using my Apple Card :snoop: since it came out and my visa points rewards card :francis: for everything in the past decade. I could've got approved for this shyt 10 years ago but the rewards game seemed too difficult to track.

Part of me feels like I should've got the Gold instead because my job pays for all my travel expenses anyway. I think I let the naming system play me :mjlol:
People with built in travel perks from their job don’t need a platinum card

they don’t cover any of my personal travel expenses and I fly 3 to 4 times a year with the family. With that said I do feel like the gold would’ve been the better play. I’ll apply for it in a week or so and put the restaurant and grocery perks to good use.

Shifting gears, anyone add their kid to their credit cards? I’m adding mine, I’ve been seeing things online about setting them up with 700 plus scores when they turn 18. You can remove them from your account on the same day or never give them the card.

I dont have kids but when I worked in banking I saw parents who had their kids on their cards. I've also met a number of 20-23 year olds with decade old credit cards on their credit report

A white people cheat code I wish my parents had learned but credit cards were a “new” thing in the late 80’s early 90’s so they never really picked up on the game. My sister has bad credit so I had mulled over adding her as an AU and just never giving her the card so she could ride on my profile. But then she pissed me off so I said “fk all dat”

Agree. There are so many things that a lot of black folk weren't educated on or considered "white people shyt" that we would set ourselves back on. A lot of jokes have been made about parents putting cable/light bills in their kids name and then not paying the bill, destroying their kids credit. That is appalling. I'm glad more people aren't falling for this shyt nowadays though.

Damn bruh, she pissed you off enough to fukk with her livelihood and future :picard: the fukk she do?

I just added my daughter to my second largest credit limit card (21k) and she'll never put hands on that shyt :pachaha: Can't add her to my largest until she's 13. She has a little debit card and savings account right now. She's had one for 3 or 4 years now and she's pretty responsible. She's careful as fukk with her money. Hopefully her staying responsible carries over into adulthood. Regardless, if she fukks it up she can't ever say I didn't set her up for success.

Does anyone know for certain if I add her to the larger limit cards will it enhance her ability to get access to larger amounts of credit when she's older.

For example, one my my struggles growing up was my first card only had a $500 limit when I was in college but eventually grew to the 21k card I just added her to. Getting an auto loan for 40k when the most I had ever been loaned was 5k at the time was undoable, even though my credit score was in the 700s. When she applies for credit at 18 will she be guaranteed to have a credit limit near 20k or will she have to start from the bottom and work her way up when I'm no longer on her accounts?

No, it is not a guarantee, because there are a number of factors that determine your initial credit limit when applying for a card. Income, credit history (outside the authorized user card) and other factors according to the lenders standards have a play in determining that limit.

One of the things people should understand is that a credit score in a lenders eye is used to determine pricing aka the interest rate they will charge you for a loan. If there are items in your credit report that they do not like to see or can be a limiting factor, they can (and will) offer you a different amount than what you were expecting or decline the loan application altogether.

Adding someone as a authorized user is very beneficial in the areas of average age of account and payment history. I don’t know the rules on if you can add a minor

The gold card is good for grocery shopping to. You don't have to just eat out all the time to justify it but it's best for the person that grocery shops during the week and eat out on the weekends. The platinum card has be advertise as a travel card for a while now so I would agree you would need to travel at lest five or six times a year to really justify it but the benefits that come with it is one of the best in business and I think that is why a lot of people hold on to it even if they aren't frequent travelers.
Facts. I traveled almost every month this year, but I probably won’t do that again next year, due to things I’m saving up for.

But the $200 off a fine resort & hotel booking that I will use to travel internationally, the $200 for in flight purchases (that you can actually use to pay flights if you know the tip), and extra perks they drop along the way can easily make you hit the $700 threshold to justify keeping the card.

I don’t have a gold card, and I’m thinking about adding that next year to really get my point game up, I ate out like crazy this year, I could’ve been stacking

She didn’t show up to either of my daughters 1st birthdays, is 35 living at my parents house with her two kids and husband being a fkn bum.

To your question, lenders will look at the income history and not give her as much of a high loan but once those cards age a yea for two her DTI ratio will be very good so she will be very early 20’s having access to whatever credit she could ever desire. Will set her up well for home loans also.

Unforgivable, we are 16 months apart and used to be close but she’s been on dumb shyt the last decade so we drift further and further since I’m only putting in the same energy I receive instead of being the initiator all the time. It is what it is :beli:

I feel you. You’re going about it the right way. Time heals all wounds, hopefully in time she’ll see the error in her ways.
