I just checked out the Amex link...150k points offer for the Platinum and 75k for Gold...:ohhh:
I just checked mine, and they offering 100k, fukk these nikkas, I wanted the platinum card, but Costco doesnt accept amex, and I was tired of my NF amex not being accepted at places, im gonna get the chase visa $500 a year card once travel opens back up.

Anyone have experience with the chase vs Amex $500 cards?

travel is opened back up. Everyone I know is abroad, or just came back. I’m going to Portugal next month. If you want the travel perks take advantage.

mid your city has a centurion lounge I’d def go with AMEX and that clear/global entry/pre check combo for free is as win

Currently have AMEX plat, Chase Sapphire Preferred, and Chase Freedom Flex, but I see myself bushing CSP for AMEX gold if they don't boost up this card soon. The freedom flex is mainly for the 0% interest, so that's a keeper, plus I want to have at least one chase card available, but that 4x on dining & groceries on the gold card :ehh:

Can't wait until Wyndam Rewards opens up status match again, so I can match Marriott Gold Elite to Diamond and get that free bahamas trip :wow:

I currently have the same setup. Was offered the Quick Silver by C1
Got the Delta American Platinum and carrying my lil one as an AUser
Got the Navy Federal Union Credit Card as well

I really use my Chase Preferred for flights.

So many cards, I forgot the perks that comes with each card is my problem.

AmEx platinum is evil. It is NOT a credit card, it's a convienence card. NEVER use it unless you are prepared to pay the balance off quickly or that interest will dissolve your bank account. It'll cost you $750/year just to carry that piece of metal. I travel a lot so the air lounge perks alone pays for the card. AmEx Blue is a better deal for most.

Can anyone speak to a timetable to get approved for global entry? It’s been about a year for me waiting for an interview

At this I’m either going to call someone or see if I can get TSA ore check.

It's tough to wait out an interview, but unless you're about to travel domestically a whole bunch I would not recommend just getting TSA pre check. It really makes no sense to just get pre check when global entry is just like $50 bucks more I think.

you have a Delta Platinum and an AMEX Platinum Charge? if you do, thats redundant....but even worse...the Platinum charge far overpowers the Delta Platinum. The Delta Platinum dont even have complimentary access to the Delta Sky Lounge :dead: it has no access to ANY other lounges either. if you have a Platinum charge, then you dont need to pay AF on ANY other AMEX except the Gold as @Htrb-nvr-blk-&-ug-as-evr says. if this is the case, I would downgrade the Delta Platinum IMMEDIATELY to the Delta Blue. Unless you want free checked bag and shyt then pay the $95 per year for the Gold. otherwise the Delta Platinum is pretty much trash. its missing a TON of shyt that the Platinum charge has. the only thing it has that Platinum doesnt is the Companion cert which would cover your AF if you use it....and MQM status boost which I dont need plus you have to put $25k spend on the card. Which wouldnt be hard to do if thats your only card but if you are splitting spend with the Plat charge or any other card then you wont meet that goal.

you can read back through the thread to get a better understanding. AMEX Platinum is upgrade as far as travel. As far as everything else, no. Best to combine the Gold with the Platinum...something I will do eventually but have to sort out my current cards first because I have a lot.
