I have AMEX Gold with over 90k limit (last time i checked)
I pay all my bills every month, including my total credit card bill and my credit score is over 800 last I checked
My FIL has the platinum amex but the annual fee and the fee for additional cards ain't worth it for me personally, the gold has no fee for additional cards
The main benefit I think I get from AMEX is customer service and the fact they always take their clients side. I had a friend who beat a $4k bottle service charge with AMEX when the club was fighting it hard as hell threatening court and all that so they really ride for their clients

CSR needs to upgrade their benefits. Amex plat lapped them.

I'm only rocking a Broke Boi Blue ( BBB) :mjcry:

I have a everyday blue, they said I can upgrade to a cash preferred joint below ....I don't travel or use CC that much so :yeshrug: got about $140 cash points on the everyday blue :ehh:

I have the Amex Blue Cash card. Actually you have to have a more solid credit history and score to get their revolvers as opposed to their charge cards. You're no slouch by having this card.

I get offers all the time to get the gold & platinum card but I already have three other cards. My most used are my US Bank Cash+ and Barclay's Arrival Plus. I tell everyone to use your credit cards if you got 'em and play the balance in full at the end of the month. Too dangerous using debit cards out here theses days

I feel you... but you know Chase is not about to sit on the sidelines and let AMEX get all this food... i'm curious to see what Chase will do after AMEX came and crushed the building
They'll probably wait to see how strong air travel comes back before they do anything. It became an arms race & battle between these cards when the masses finally started getting passports, you could purchase tickets online, and hit the skies whenever you wanted as opposed to back in the day when only a select few used to travel. Then Covid came and crushed the buildings. Things should bounce back tho

Lounge access is perfectly worth it alone. I just got my annual companion certificate from Delta Plat. That’s a free fight minus taxes. Card already has paid for itself. And free TSA/Global check. Annual fee $250

I have the BOA cash rewards card at the platinum preferred tier. which gives me 75% more cash rewards than normal.

this means for the 3% I get on online shopping, its boosted to 5.25%
the 2% I get for groceries and costco jumps up to 3.5%
and the 1% I get for everything else jumps up to 1.75%

my costco visa pays 4% on gas, 3% on travel and restaurants and 2% at costco

and apple card pays 3%, 2% for apple pay and 1% for everything else

these are all cash rewards.

some people only fly once or twice a year and it doesnt add up for them.

for me the airport perks aer everythig. the feeling of paying $7 for a bum as little bag of chips boils my blood.
I only fly twice a year and it still adds up but that’s because I take advantage of everything else.
